Turkeygirl
Well I just got back about 20 minutes ago from hunting for squirrels and rabbits. No luck at all except for spooking a grouse and calling a chipmunk out of its tree. The temperature was only about 10 degrees F with a wind chill in the negative single digits to maybe -10 F; that was the most brutal hunting I've ever done I think. I was really hoping to get a couple more squirrels and kick butt in the contest, lol, but oh well, hunting isn't all about the killing, and I did get 2 squirrels for Team 5 and my teammate must have forgotten the contest, lol Now I've got shed hunting and fishing and turkey season to look forward to, not to mention getting college donewith. Congrats to the winners of the contest!
Squirrelhunter91
Re: Good bye small game season I know what you mean Ruth.. The contest was looking good for us New Yorkers as in the weather for hunting, but then for some reason, it actually turned into winter weather. I would've hunted yesterday, but my buddy was sick and I had to cover for him at work. You're right. Shed hunting & fishing along with turkey season is coming up. Tominator
Re: Good bye small game season Ended for me as well. I went out back to scare up a rabbit and give it a try, just to say I gave it a try. I bumped two bunnies, and I missed both. That's what I get for not shooting that gun for 2 months. It was fun, can't complain. All in all I shot 1 pheasant, could have hunted them harder, but chose not to. We took 3 or 4 rabbits off that field and could have had triple that probably, so I can't complain. Good small game season for me.

M00N
Re: Good bye small game season I didn't have a very good small game season either. The truck decided to die so I had to hunt locally instead of going to NW PA to hunt. There just seems to be tons of squirrels, rabbit, and grouse to shoot where I hunt in NW PA. Down here in south central PA I didn't see but 4 squirrels total during the small game seasons. I didn't bag any of them either. I didn't see a single rabbits nor grouse. I saw more woodpeckers than anything around here. Hopefully next year the truck will behave itself so I can hunt small game up in NW PA.
