buckee
Re: alluminum or carbon????????? I started out bow-hunting with aluminums, and now shoot Carbons. I'll never switch back. No more straightening arrows for me
VermontHunter
Re: alluminum or carbon????????? There's absolutely nothing wrong with either, they both perform well.... I love the advantages that carbons have to offer.. they don't bend or crease like aluminums,, I love my GT 5575's... I think it's just another one of those personal prefferences in equipment... Guest adamc
Re: alluminum or carbon????????? I started off shooting alluminum but after a few bent shafts and having to buy new ones i figured i would save money with carbons. Now i shoot GoldTip 55/75. But like Vermont Hunter said there is nothing wrong with either one. Both will kill an animal with a well placed shot.

pa_sportsman
Re: alluminum or carbon????????? Both will perform very well if properly spined and shot with a tuned bow. Personally, I shoot aluminum arrows. I prefer a helical fletch and the larger diameter shaft provides more clearance as the arrow passes over/through my [fixed position] rest. The pro shop where I visit sells approximately 50% carbon and 50% aluminum arrows for hunting use. Usage depends upon personal preference. I shoot aluminums.I ruin 4 or 5 a year, but I can live with that.I have about 18,and just buy half a dozen aluminums every year, instead of buying 18 new carbons. Guest xx78
Re: alluminum or carbon????????? I shoot XX78 superslams and will not change they are straighter than most carbons. I have had them break but any arrow would have under the circumstance..( head on into a rock) but what ever you prefer. all will get the job done if placed properly. Cutter
Re: alluminum or carbon????????? I have always shot alluminum. I have one arrow in my quiver that has been put through 6 deer, still as straight as the day I fletched it. I dont see any reason for changing. cjsportsman
Re: alluminum or carbon????????? Aluminum for me. I tried all different brands of carbons. I think for me, I got caught up in the speed thing, then I read an article by Randy Templeton, who said the fastest arrow will never beat the speed of sound referring to string jumping. His article put it all back into perspective for me.

kingduckhunter
Re: alluminum or carbon????????? i have noticed that aluminum arrows shoot straighter and dont move as much during flight resulting in better penetration
mrincker
Re: alluminum or carbon????????? Alluminum arrows? Is there still such a thing? No just joking, We shoot carbon they are faster and you hook that quiver on a thron bush and get tagnled you dont sit in the stand wondering which one of your arrows is straight. We have had no problems with carbon and wont switch back good inquirey though
hoytguy08
Re: alluminum or carbon????????? i started out w/ aluminum but now shoot carbon (beman black max) and i'll never go back they penetrate well and are very accurate and consistent
