RangerClay
For those of you who live in the south, you may not enjoy this as much as us snow birds. When I go out to walk the dog at 6:15 every morning it is pretty much silence as we do our thing. The occasional chickadee or maybe a bluejay may be heard but for the most part it's quiet. But this morning I was greeted with this wonderful sound........a song bird . Not sure what the bird was but boy was it beautiful to hear him sing his tune. He almost sounded out of place as we made our way in the chilly 7 degree weather. I guess this means that spring isn't that far away Just wanted to share that with you all. Guest Andrea
Re: A wonderful sound this morning I'm sure that was a welcome tune!!! Of course....this being Florida...we never really get rid of all those tweets and chirps. They all spend their winters here. Yesterday morning there must have been a THOUSAND robins in the back yard. The noise was deafening.

Tominator
Re: A wonderful sound this morning Saw my first red wing blackbird the other day. Heard my first one in my field yesterday. Seems pretty early. I hate those things though, they drive me crazy with their incessant "song."
clayman
Re: A wonderful sound this morning I've been seeing Robins here in St. paul for about a week now, and I just noticed this morning that a couple of tulips have started to push their way through the surface in one of my flower beds. Spring is arriving!

buckee
Re: A wonderful sound this morning Tons of robins here now. Had one hit the front window, just yesterday. The swans are still here though. When they leave, I know spring is just around the corner.
Squirrelhunter91
Re: A wonderful sound this morning I'm with Steve. The other day I took a the scenic route home from school ( through the woods ) and came across a covey of robins moving through the woods. Once the robins start popping up, you know it is almost spring time. Soon the toms will be hammering away on the roost, the bass will be running & the weather will actually be nice. wtnhunt
Re: A wonderful sound this morning Pretty warm here yesterday. Heard a lot of birds singing in the morning here lately, then yesterday evening sat on the deck for a few minutes as the sun was going down and listened to ducks in the bottom. Guest Jeremiah_Johnson
Re: A wonderful sound this morning Heard a turky gobble couple days ago - that's my spring songbird!!! It was 65 here in middle-southern Indiana yesterday and I rode my motorcycle for the first time this year. It's really nasty today, though and so back to the garage.
