Songs that should never have existed

Last night we sat down for family movie night. It was my wifes turn so we watched Walt Disneys Robin Hood. Just as the open credits finished my wife started laughing out loud, "Did you hear that?".

"Hear what", I replied.

She rewound the tape and said listen carefully to the music. So I listened to Roger Miller (God bless his soul) sing his little song and I finally heard it. It was that darn Hamster Dance song. Those losers stole Roger Millers tune. If you don't believe me just play it yourself.

So this morning I was thinking to myself what a totally useless song the Hamster Dance tune was and others like it. What do you think was the most useless song ever created? Remember, you can pick ONLY ONE song!!

Thanks

Ranger

"Bubba likes Moonpies"

This is the dumbest song I have EVER HEARD. They only play it during Mardi Gras "season".

As far as what I feel is the most useless song, I wish I could pick more than one, but I guess I'll go with

Heyyyyyyyyyy Macarena!!!

I agree that songs just point less.

First of all, what in the heck is the Hamster Dance song? It's been awhile since I've seen Disney's Robin Hood.

MAKE IT STOP!!! grin.gif After my wife and I got married, we went on our honeymoon in Cancun. This was at the peak of the macarena.......that song played for 7 days non-stop it seemed........ crazy.gifgrin.gif

My vote would have to be Jefferson Starship "We built this city". What a waste of air space this one was..... wink.giftongue.gif

Go to one of those web sites that allows you to download music and search for "Hamster Dance". I'm sure you will recognize it smirk.gif

LOL....I kinda like the Hamster Dance. Granted, it's not something I would actually dance to, but it's cute!!! My kids loved it when they were little. grin.gifgrin.gif

It's GREAT for listening to while you're on the treadmill!!!!! cool.gif

You think thats bad.... Look up "The ketchup Song." It was a fad that TRIED to catch on later after the Macarena (by a different group). It went down like the Hendenburg but not before they tried to wear it out....

It was like nails on a chalkboard after the pitiful success of its earlier mold.

I love that song! Mostly because it was the only song my uncle knew on his harmonica. grin.gif

Brings back good memories. My dad and his two brothers used to get liquored and sung it in Polish. LOL, good times right there. grin.gif
