Guest OldBuckhunter
Don't remember ever seeing anything about wearing glasses while hunting. Anybody have problems while hunting? I was just curious. I have to wear reading glasses and sometimes they tend to fog. I know there are products out there to help with that. Anybody have any comments? Thanks

popgun
Re: Do you wear glasses Yes I do wear glasses and sometimes it can be a pain. I seldom have trouble with my glasses fogging. My biggest problem is that I wear bifocals. Hunting from an elevated stand I can't see anything within that first 50 yards unless I bend my head down in order to see through the top portion. If I just wear my regular glasses I can't see through the scope. It ain't funny getting old. ....popgun
Nut
Re: Do you wear glasses [ QUOTE ] It ain't funny getting old. [/ QUOTE ] So true. I wear glasses and only have probs with certain face coverings so I do without them. I also have to make sure that the sun does not reflect off of them. Would go back to contacts but then anything close would be by feel alone.
wtnhunt
Re: Do you wear glasses My eyes have gotten a little weaker over time and I do have glasses, but I dont wear them very often, and very rarely ever take them hunting with me. VTbowman
Re: Do you wear glasses I may be wearing some soon. It seems my peepers have gotten a bit weak over the last few month. Things that were clear as a bell last year seem a tad fuzzy now. It surely concerns me when it comes to shooting and hunting.
M00N
Re: Do you wear glasses I wear glasses, however, while hunting I wear prescription contacts instead. I don't like how glasses fog up on me when I wear a face mask. I never really had much trouble with my contacts. I carry some wetting solution in my pockets and use it if they get a bit dry from staring too long and hard. The biggest thing about contacts is to use a brand that fits your eyes the best and don't fall out so easily. Took me awhile to find a brand that had a good fit to my eye shape, but once I did they worked wonders in the woods.
Master_Chief
Re: Do you wear glasses I used to wear glasses then had the lasik surgery done. Wow do I love it. However, now that I am aging (I hate saying that) I have had to get a pair of glasses for reading and computer use.

It was actually a hunting experience (albeit turkey hunting) that probably made me go ahead and bite the bullet. Warm, humid, spring morning. Face mask down and a gobbler on his way. Heart racing and breathing increased. By the time he was in range I had fogged up my glasses so bad I couldn't see to shoot! That's it! Not long after that I had the lasik surgery (now 20-15 in both eyes w/o glasses) and have never looked back. I highly recommend it.

oo_buck
Re: Do you wear glasses I wear glasses, have since I was 13 years old.... Sometimes they fog up on cold days, but you get used to it..... I've tried hunting without, but usually it just causes headaches.... Biggest problem with hunting with glasses is bow shooting.... Guest Buckwheat
Re: Do you wear glasses I wear glasses and fogging is a little bit aggravating but when looking thru a rifle scope is challenging especially when you focus it to your glasses and then when you look thru your scope over the glasslens every thing seems blurry and out of wack. Guest OldBuckhunter
Re: Do you wear glasses I have bi-focals too. I have some stuff I picked up free at a equipment show in Chi-town. You put it on your glasses and they'll never fog up in any tempature. Now I just have to find the stuff. I had it at work, but when I retired I had to pack everything up and haul home. Misplaced the stuff. If I find it I'll let you know.

johnf
Re: Do you wear glasses I wear glasses and never had any problems shooting untill about 2 years ago and now I'm unable to shoot iron sight passed 20 or 30 yards. My optomologist told me, but I can't remember what he called it, but I can't see the sight and the target at the same time. I had to put scopes on all my guns with iron sights. I put tru-glo sights on my shotgun and that seems to work pretty good. I do get some distortion looking through scopes sometimes while wearing my glasses.
