Guest Xen
ok, spent hours on the net searching, now i'm hoping somebody here can help me out... got a 20 gauge shotgun that use to be my grandpa's. It is labelled a Ward's Western Field. I've found Montgomery Ward and Western, but nothing that specifically says Ward's Western Field. The model number listed on the gun is 60-SB620-A, but, there is no serial number listed, unless the gun is something like a model 60 and the SB620-A is the serial? really just wanted to find out exactly who manufactured the gun and what year it was made. the other gun i'm having a hard time finding, is a Marlin Diamond Jubilee Commemorative Model 6060 .22lr, serial number is OK013588. found various types of model 60, but nothing that said Diamond Jubilee Commerative Model. wasn't sure if the OK was because the gun was shipped to Oklahoma? also, not sure if it helps, but there is a stamp on the barrel that looks like a JM. Any help on either gun would be greatly appreciated. Thanks - Xen
longhorn57
Re: Ward\'s Western Field I just did a serch and what I found is that the shotgun was made by Stevens for Montgomery Ward/ Western Field. The site I was on said they were made back in the 1930 to 1945 and the prices now are anywhere from $75 to $600. Hope this helps but you better let AJ handle this one because he know tons more than I do.
AJ
Re: Ward\'s Western Field Yep, Longhorn has the correct info. The Blue Book's Cross Reference List has it listed as a Stevens 620A model. I can check more info when I get home today.
Guest Xen
Re: Ward\'s Western Field thanks to both of you for the help. any idea where i would look on the gun for the serial? was wondering if i have to take it down, or if they even had serial numbers printed on them. also, that blue book link that AJ posted shows Savage for a mfg instead of stevens, Western Field 60SB Savage 620A. are they the same people, or does savage ultimatley cross reference over to stevens? also, any links i could get from either of you for a good place to look up guns would be greatly appreciated. AJ
Re: Ward\'s Western Field The Blue Book lists a Stevens 620 Slide Action: 100% - $275 98% - $240 95% - $215 90% - $180 80% - $160 It does not list dates of manufacture. I don't see any data on the Marlin. Sorry.
