slugshooter
I just happened to notice this. Why is the NEF considered a "firearm" by ATF and the Sidekick a ML. Both look to be about the gun, both are ML s. Can the Huntsman be converted into a centerfire rifle or shotgun.
AJ
Re: Difference between NEF Huntsman vs. Sidekick The Huntsman can have centerfire barrels fitted to it. I am not sure if they will install rifle barrels or if its shotgun only. They do not state if the Huntsman uses the SB1 or SB2 action. reward
Re: Difference between NEF Huntsman vs. Sidekick The huntsman barrel can be fitted to any newer receiver except th 10 guage as stated on their site. The sidekick is strictly a ml, no barrel swapping. I have a sb2 handirfle with a 243, 50 cal, and 12 guage turkey barrel. I purchased the 50 cal huntsman and 12 guage barrel used off of graybeard.com and they both fit perfectly on my receiver. I believe that it is very uncommon to have a used barrel not fit although not unheard of. My huntsman shoots 2" groups at 100 yards with 80gr 777 and 295gr powerbelts. AJ
Re: Difference between NEF Huntsman vs. Sidekick [ QUOTE ] I believe that it is very uncommon to have a used barrel not fit although not unheard of. [/ QUOTE ] I say its the other way around. I have 3 different receivers and none of the barrels I have will interchange. Each one has a different headspace measurement. If you want a stainless gun with synthetic stocks, it will be another $50 Stainless Handi Rifles

Jeramie
Re: Difference between NEF Huntsman vs. Sidekick AJ covered it! You can also get a variety of stocks and barrels (Heavy, fluted, etc). I search Walmarts website for info but my gun guy actually sales them to me $25 cheaper (If I want one). They are great little guns.
