Hey,

A bunch of friends and I are heading to either ohio, PA, or possibly indiana, or might just stay in Michigan. Basically, where ever the road takes us is where we will go.

Neither of us have ever been to any of these state in search of steel and was wondering if anyone would provide any light on the steelhead fishing available. What is froze up, what is not? What rivers have fish in, which don't. Where are the access. Were not looking for anyones honey hole or anything, we can find our own, were just hoping someone will shed some light for us.

Also, what are the license fee's for out of state residence.

Feel free to email me at [email protected].

Thank you for your time

fishing license price

there is the link to the Ohio fishing license costs. i live right up by the lake in northeast ohio and fish for steelies on occassion. there r some great tributaries just east of cleveland. the grand river is the biggest and mosy easily accessible, then there is the chagrin river, big creek, conneaut creek, ashtabula river that r a little smaller, and arcola creek, mill creek, paines falls, and euclid creek which r smaller but still great spots. there is even a place right on the lake in eastlake u can catch em. all of these places r within an hour of eachother. im not really sure which ones r frozen or not right now, but last time i checked all were iceless.

all of these spots will produce fish, just gotta know how to catch em. spawn sacks r a very common method around here, aside from flies. hope this helps and good luck

I troll for steelhead all summer here in lake erie. They are a blast. I have never fished for them in the winter months in the rivers by me. Need info for your question call Erie Outfitters 440-949-8934. Craig is one of the top steelhead fisherman in ohio. Hope this helps
