Re: NEW LEUPOLD SCOPE

Mu local dealer has one for sale. Its.....different. Anyone notice that it uses an Argon/Krypton gas blend instead of Nitrogen to make it weatherproof? Is this because this scope does not seal as tight as the "normal" profiled scopes so they had to change the gas to something with larger molecules. I dunno. I am thinking about getting one. I do like the theory behind the notched objective. But they aint cheap.

What is the going price?

Retail prices are like: $699.95-$1,199.95 depending on model and these seem to be common price ranges.

Ah, common for you maybe but I can tell you unless that scope gets up every morning and fixes my breakfast I am not going to invest in it. grin.gif

Re: NEW LEUPOLD SCOPE

By common, I meant that's the going price in popular hunting optics stores like SWFA, Bear Basin, Cabelas, Midsouth, Natchez, etc for the VX-L scopes. Whether they are worth that, I dunno. I would rather have another AR15 than a Leupy scope.

Re: NEW LEUPOLD SCOPE

I held and looked through one last weekend at the Kinsey dealer show in Hersey PA. It appears to be a well built Leupold scope...crystal clear and hardly notice the bottom notched out.

The idea is nice...notch it out to keep the line of sight lower with the bigger objective. Little pricey for me...but neat idea.
