Texan_Til_I_Die
Heard about this on Limbaugh today. I just can't imagine how the left gets away with such blatantly racist remarks? These 3 cartoons imply that Dr. Condoleeza Rice is nothing but a dumb <insert n-word here> that the President has trotted out as a token. I happen to have a totally different regard for Dr. Rice. I believe she's a true talent and will be a brilliant Sec. of State. If some conservative cartoonist had dared publish something depicting Rev. Jesse Jackson or Rev. Al Sharpton or any other black liberal in this manner, their carrers wouldn't last 48 hours. But of course that wouldn't happen anyway since conservatives are the truly color blind political ideology, unlike liberalism which is largely based on racial stereotyping. The left's hypocrisy knows no bounds.

johnf
Re: Racial Stereotyping From the Left If you watched Hanidy and Colmbs tonight there was some Democrat on there acutally defending that mess. All he could say was about Rep. putting Clinton through the ringer. He wouldn't really even acknowledge the racial motivation. I think it's like one of my students grandmother's said to me a while back. We (whites) don't really know how racist the world is.

We (whites) don't really know how racist the world is. [/ QUOTE ] Is the whole world racist, or do we have a section of our society that has been so sensitized to the subject that they see racism where none exists? If I treat my black friends exactly like I do my Hispanic or white friends, does that make me a racist? Should I adjust my actions in some way to "accomodate" the extra sensitive feelings of some people? I don't think I want to, and may not even be able to, do that. wtnhunt
Re: Racial Stereotyping From the Left Sharpton or Jackson either one would be screaming and would be all over the media. You better believe that a lawsuit would also already be underway.
ParrotHead
Re: Racial Stereotyping From the Left Neal Boortz had a good response to all this today: Condoleezza Rice has been nominated as the first black female secretary of state less than a week after the resignation of Colin Powell, and already the left has their slings and arrows out, determined to destroy this woman. This, if you're paying attention, shows you their true colors. Now you can see the intolerance of the left. Their message is simple: minorities are good as long as they know their place. And the place for minorities is in the Democratic Party and on the liberal side of the political fence. Stray from the designated minority path and you get what Condi Rice is getting now. If Dr. Rice had been nominated by a Democrat, we would be right in the middle of a weeks-long media swoon about how she is the smartest woman in the world, about how whatever Democrat that nominated her was a brave, principled leader, and on and on. But because George Bush nominated her, she is being portrayed as a lackey Bush loyalist that can't think for herself. Yet this is only the beginning. The media is attacking Condi attacking her with political cartoons that are beyond racist. You can only imagine what would happen if a conservative cartoonist created a cartoon using basic black stereotypes to make fun of a black Democratic nominee? The liberal lynch mobs would be out front with pitch forks before the second edition came out. The cartoonists are demeaning a black conservative now ... so not a peep. Will race pimps like Jesse Jackson defend Condoleezza Rice? How about Al "The Liar" Sharpton? Will the useless NAACP come to her defense? Will other so-called "civil rights" groups and race warlords hail the importance of her appointment as the first black female secretary of state? What about the National Organization for Women? Will NOW be celebrating this appointment? You know the answer to all of these questions ... and that answer is not only "no," but "**** no." Of course not, and the reason is simple: these groups were never about protecting anyone's rights except those of liberal Democrats. Never forget...there are two sets of rules not only for the media, but for the civil rights hacks out there. One set for the Democrats and one for Republicans. slugshooter
Re: Racial Stereotyping From the Left The top one I don't really see as racist, I view it more as the artist trying to convey how Rice is a "Yes" person to everything the President says. Think about it, Bush nominated Powell and shortly after the inauguration Powell was basically out of the Presidential loop and many people didn't think he would be around this long, mainly because he wasn't going to go along with everything the President said and God forbid disagree with him, we all know we can't disagree with our President in this day and age, now that Powell has resigned, he has a much more willing Secretary who will do and mold policy whichever way the President wants without any hinderance. The bottom 2 cartoons I feel were out of line.
slugshooter
Re: Racial Stereotyping From the Left [ QUOTE ] I think a big reason that this does not get the attention it should is because it never made it to the mainstream media. Nobody ever hears oubout this stuff because the big news channels refuse to cover it. That's a big problem with the liberal media, things are never presented in a fair and balanced fashion. [ QUOTE ] we all know we can't disagree with our President in this day and age [/ QUOTE ] Sure we can, you do it every day. That's what makes this country great, isn't it? [/ QUOTE ] It was a rhetorical statement based on the responses I get in this room. Let me clarify. " We all know that we cannot disagree with our President in this day and age while we are in the Realtree forum. "
oldksnarc
Re: Racial Stereotyping From the Left You can as long as it is sensical-based. But, there will be those who disagree with you. Just because there are those who disagree with YOU doesn't mean YOU can't disagree with the President.
TreeStandBowHunter
Re: Racial Stereotyping From the Left I'll tell you what, I am sick of all this racial crap. If anyone is discriminated these days it's the white man. I have seen more racist moves from black people towards white people then the other way around. Example would be if a black man and a white man went in to apply for the same job, the black man would probably get it because if he wouldn't, he would make a big scene about it and say that the company if racist. I am sick of hearing this crap. What would happen if we had our own magazines to put on the shelves in stores or had our own TV channels on cable. Especially being in the military...I have seen more racism coming from black people than anything when it comes to job billets. Never had it happen to me but boy have I seen it.
