wtnhunt
Looking at getting a new camcorder and was looking at a sony handycam model that records to the small dvd's at wal mart. Price looks pretty good for the features the camera has. Anyone on here using the dvd cameras? What are the pros and cons of the dvd's. Is the quality much better than that of the dv tapes? Anyone have any suggestions on brands or models.
danthehunter
Re: camcorders-dv or dvd? I use the Mini Handycam and they are amazing. They have many features you can mess with. The quality of a didital camcorder is so much better than anything else. If you have a good movie editing program you can do some amazing stuff with your digital camcorder. The only thing that i dont like is that the mini-dvd's can get kind of expensive, they come in 3 packs and each one has 31 minutes on it. But, it is all worth, you would not be making a bad choice by getting one. Check our website, www.thunderproductionsonline.com go to our products page and you can download a clip of our video and it is filmed with a Handycam. smallmunster
Re: camcorders-dv or dvd? If you want to edit video on your PC after you shoot it I would get a minidv camera. The dvd cameras save video as an MPEG file, not as raw (avi) footage. MPEG video can be edited but not as easily or as well as avi.
