Born2Hunt
What do you guys think of this rifle in the 22-250?
AJ
Re: Remington 700VLS Its a nice setup. The stock is decent looking and strong. The gun has a 26" barrel to aid in velocity and move blast farther out. Its a classic varmint gun. Good choice in any of the chamberings. bearcat
Re: Remington 700VLS Should be a very accurate rifle. The 22-250 is one of the best Long Range varmit calibers there is. I like the Laminated stocks better than the Synthetic, they look and feel alot better to me. I wish Remington would offer this one in Big Game calibers as well. bearcat
Re: Remington 700VLS These are indeed big game calibers, but I was thinking more along the lines of a7mm Rem. Mag., 300 Win. Mag. or 300 Remington Ultra Mag. Remington is offering new for 2006 a big game version of the Varmit Synthetic Stainless Fluted, I think it is called the 700 SF II. It is a little different from the old Stainless fluted Sendero. The metal is polished stainless instead of satin stainless. The flutes are black. The stock has two swivel studs in the forend, one for sling and one for bipod. I think the stock is still made by HS Precision. The Price tag is about $200.00 more than the older SF Sendero. The laminated stock would really look good on this one.

bearcat
Re: Remington 700VLS I admit it, Im Guilty as charged. I like power and speed with big game bullets. I like the .308 Winchester as it comes very close to my favorite "Standard" caliber the 30-06 Springfield. I have never been a great fan of the .243 or 6mm, the 7mm and .30 are by far my two favorite calibers.
