buckshot_09
just thinking about bowhunting and decided to torture myself by checking out the 06' bows...i promised myself i wouldn't get a new bow until i shot a deer with the current one i have, for it would be my first kill with my first bow (Browning Ambush 80). but the new Illusion that browning came out with is really tempting, lol. this bow pretty much has it all, including outstanding speed! check it out http://www.browning-archery.com/products/2006/illusion.htm let me know what you all think! VermontHunter
Re: New Browning Illusion Real sharp looking bow... but for some reason it looks stunningly like the PSE Vengence.... Browning on the LEFT and PSE on the RIGHT.. Not that it matters any, but I just thought I was seeing double.... Both are great bows, from great manufacturers.. You can't go wrong with either.... buckshot_09
Re: New Browning Illusion nope, they're totally different, the camo isn't the same, haha...you can probably find a few Mathew bows that look the same as well...they pretty much are identical, but i guess most bows are taking that route towards the short limbed, and short spanned bows, seems to be all about the speed these days! VermontHunter
Re: New Browning Illusion I have to agree buckshot, the creativity of some bow designs seem to have hit a wall.... but that's OK they all seem to have their heads in the right place when it comes to service and warranty, and to me that's where it matters the most... I wouldn't mind trying out this Illusion myself, it definately looks like a great shooter..
dogdoc
Re: New Browning Illusion well since Browning is owned by PSE it doesn't really surprise me they look very similiar. BUT--when you put a lot of the parallel limb designed bows together they all look alike. todd

VermontHunter
Re: New Browning Illusion Dang.. You're right Todd, I totally forgot PSE, and Browning were one and the same..... AR isn't a bad bow either from what I have heard and read, Chris..

Illinoisbowhunter
Re: New Browning Illusion I got a chance to shoot the Illusion when I was deciding on which bow to get. I tell yah the Illusion really caught my eye, great looking and shooting bow. I think it was same price as the switchback xt and to me the xt was a little smoother and had less handshock. If it would have been cheaper I may have considered it more...
Tominator
Re: New Browning Illusion [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] They look a lot like the AR's [/ QUOTE ] also owned by PSE [/ QUOTE ] That's probably why they look like AR's.
VermontHunter
Re: New Browning Illusion OK Chris, lets see if we can stump Todd with this little quiz... Who's the Mama, who's the daddy and who's the baby out of this trio ??? In other words who is the parent company and which one's are the sister companies ????...... You keep score Chris.... Because I sure wouldn't mind owning any of the 3 bows mentioned....

[/ QUOTE ] The PSE Vengance and Browning Illusion are totally different animals. The grip on the venganece is wide and was not comfortable in my hand. The vengance also is slower and personally I don't think the quality is there for the price they asking for them. I shot both and trust me the Illusion is the way to go. dogdoc
Re: New Browning Illusion Luke---PSE is the parent company. AR is a child and browning is an adopted child. PSE purchased the Archery section of Browning don't remember how long ago the transaction. PSE created AR to compete with the top end bow manufactures. I believe they introduced the new AR line in 2002 or 2003. At least that is how I understood it.

AdvantageTimberLou
Re: New Browning Illusion Yeah Hutchies, your the red headed step child with that Browning Illusion, you refuse to jump on the Mathews bandwagon and after looking at an Illusion myself, I have to say are sweet! We still like you even if you have one!! Sweet looking bow, thats for sure!

VermontHunter
Re: New Browning Illusion Thanks for the schooling Todd, nothing like good old fashion knowledge.... And if my research is right you are right on the money as usual.... Hutchies, you really liked the Illusion over the Vengence.... Hhmm, I was just the other way around,,, I guess that's why they call it personal preference... How I ended up buying a Alpine is beyond me.... Strut10
Re: New Browning Illusion I'm glad the Browning I'm shooting now hasn't gotten old or boring on me yet. Dunno what they're asking for the Illusion..........but chances are, I'd pay it. I loves my Brownings, I do.
hutchies
Re: New Browning Illusion Asking price is normally $600-$ 650 brand new. Right now they are doing a deal if you buy a bow they give you a dozen Radial X-weave arrows for free. Those arrows list at over $100.
