Can deer swim through a river when its that cold and live??

[/ QUOTE ]

They can, as long as they can get out when they want to. In many cases, they get in just fine, but, the slippery ice around the edges, prevents them from getting back out. Eventually fatigue, and the cold water will kill them.

Looks like something you'd see in Oklahoma, but with all that snow and ice, I'd guess somewhere in Canada?

That first pic looks like his "exit" shot. I bet he made it out. Nice buck!!

It's illegal to shoot them in the water here. crazy.gif I've seen several in the river. You'd never think a deer can swim that fast.

Those are some great pics, I've heard they have been seen swimming a mile out in the gulf of Mexico, anybody know if that's true?

[/ QUOTE ]

Deer swim quite well, I have seen them swim here a time or two. Had not heard about them swimming in the gulf, but have heard of them swimming some pretty long distances, across rivers and such.
