You crack your knuckles?

I always have. I pop my neck, my back my knees, just about every joint in my body.

My parents always say I am gonna get arthritis. But I figure I'm just doing what you'd pay a lot of money to a chiropractor to do.

I find if I don't pop my neck then I get really bad headaches. It's a wonderful way to release the tension for me.....even if it does sound gross. grin.gif

Re: You crack your knuckles?

Yep, I do. I already have bursitis and tendonitis problems in my shoulders, have heard that cracking your knuckles does not lead to arthritis.

If you get headaches without popping your neck you probably should see a chiropractor or at least check with your doctor to make sure nothing is out of place.

Recent results of a large survey of nursing home patients revealed that those who "cracked" their knuckles had a significantly lower rate of arthritis in their hands than those who didn't. No one knows for sure why.

When you crack your knuckles and joints the sound you hear is the release of gas inside your joints. My doctor said it was actually beneficial/therapeutic.

Re: You crack your knuckles?

I crack my back a lot, it actually helps it stop hurting when it is hurting. I also crack my bad shoulder a lot for the same reason as my back. My knuckles are hard to crack because I got very loose joints in my hands and fingers. I also crack my wrists and ankles a lot. I always got yelled at about the arthritis thing too because my aunt used to crack her knuckles and now has bad arthritis in her hands. She claims it's from cracking her knuckles all the time growing up, but if you ask me her line of work probably caused that. She's had a lot of back breaking jobs that require the use of her hands a lot.

I do my knuckles from time to time, but it is not a "habit". My buddy does his neck all the time. I find it verrrry irritating. One of these days he is going to twist his head off doing that.

No Knuckles, but my left ankle, back and various other parts on occasion. Both sides of my jaw will pop so loud, it sounds like a stick breaking! Freaks people out! shocked.gif

Me too. I forgot about that one. I have TMJ and whenever I open my mouth really wide the right side will pop pretty loudly. crazy.gifcrazy.gif

The orthodontist told me that in order to correct TMJ, they actually have to BREAK YOUR JAW and reset it.

No thanks............. mad.gif
