KirkV
On the SQ2 do I gain a half inch or loose a half inch by going from 60%let off to 80%? Also now that I have the SQ2 what is it that makes the outback and switchback so much better than this bow?
Bow Hunter Derek
Re: Mathews Questions I believe that you will gain 1/2" of draw by going to 60%. The difference ... shoot one, you'll know it when you feel it. As good as that SQ2 feels, the Switchback, XT, and even the Outback are simply amazing. Guest adowns99
Re: Mathews Questions lol they are evn smoother than that kirk. quite a bit heavier too. you just have to shoot one of each. i think they are very heavy bows though. Guest adowns99
Re: Mathews Questions yeah, i'm getting nervous about this surgery. i guess i should spend some time up while i can you know. cant wait to get that mount scored tomarrow. wish me luck. i'm glad to see you like the bow. i'll let you shoot my new mathews in the fall. lol! they are nice, and expensive too. its nothing to drop 1000-1200 on the setup initially. but it is nice to have real confidence in what you shoot when that "special" deer walks by. you know. Chrud
Re: Mathews Questions I didn't think the StraightLine MaxCam2 adjustable. On Mathews site, it says it is available in 70% let-off. If it is adjustable, I would think you'll lose 1/2". You do with the HP Cam when you go from 80% to 65%.
okbowman
Re: Mathews Questions I think you'll lose the 1/2" too. I love my LX
maddhunter
Re: Mathews Questions You all need to read a little slower His question was, when goin from 65% to 80% do you lose or gain? Not 80% to 65%. You will gain 1/2 an inch or maybe an inch, if yours is adjustable.
huntinsonovagun
Re: Mathews Questions The higher the let-off, the longer the draw. Can't remember if those cams are adjustable, or if you have to switch out the module....
Chrud
Re: Mathews Questions [ QUOTE ] Can't remember if those cams are adjustable, or if you have to switch out the module.... [/ QUOTE ] I really don't think that cam is adjustable. I'm pretty sure one of, if not the only adjustable cam Mathews has is the HP (on the Outback, LX, Ovation and Mustang). You'd have to get a whole new cam if you wanted to switch. Here is the link right to the product. Mathews SQ2. I believe that cam is only available in 70% let-off. But, that is legal for everywhere. Hence the **. I believe that is what I was told at one time.

I have a Q2XL that is pretty much the same cam as a SQ2 and I'm pretty sure it isn't adjustable.

As for what makes the bows better, believe it or not, my Outback is simply smoother, quieter and more shock free than the SQ2. I didn't think it was possible either because my SQ2 was sweet, but after shooting the Outback it makes the SQ2 seem like a WalMart bow lol. Don't get me wrong, the SQ2 is definitely a sweet bow and I do wish I would have held on to mine, but the Outback and the Switchback & XT for that matter are just that much better.
