HarvDog Posted March 12, 2006 Report Share Posted March 12, 2006 I got a huge splinter today in my finger right under the fingernail of my ring finger. I was reaching for something and hit this wicker basket. I knew I cut it or something because it hurt quite a bit and was bleeding a little. The splinter was completely under the nail so you really couldn't see it. I was able to barely grab it with some squeezers and start pulling it out. I had to have my son pull it the rest of the way out. That really FREAKIN hurt!!! It ended up being over an inch long and about 1/8" wide. So it was fairly deep into the finger well beyond the nail. When I was building my ice shack a couple months ago, I was nailing two joists together for the wall with the nailgun, and I shot a 3 1/2" framing nail RIGHT through my middle finger and it went underneath the nail of my ring finger.
