On my way home from work yesterday, I start smelling that smell you get from an overheated vehicle, you know the smell of hot antifreeze. Well, I get home and look under my truck and it is dripping everywhere. I ran in and changed out of my uniform and drove to the nearest Firestone, as I can only do minor repairs. Well the waterpump was shot, he said my radiator was so full of crap that it should be replaced, as well as my thermostat, then do a full coolant cleans. And all I have to pay is $860.00. Boy aint I the lucky one? mad.gif Well this was all at 3:30 in the afternoon, and I have to leave the truck there, and my wife dosent get off 'till 7, so I call a cab. Finnaly I get home, only to realize that I left my cell phone in the cab mad.gif I finnaly get a hold of the cab company, and track down the driver that took me home, and 2 hours later he comes back to my house with my phone. I was very grateful and even gave him the last 7 bucks I had in my pocket, only to have him tell me in his Arabian voice, and as he counted the money in front of me, that he would have made alot more money had he not had to come back to my house. I took everything I had not to pull his sorry rear out the window right then and there. Oh well, I got it back and went inside to grab a nice cold Coors Light and told myself that the day could not get any worse and that everything would be alright. That is when I looked over to see the stupid dog that we are watching for my wifes boss chewing through my cell phone charging cable. That was it, I took a shower, holding on to the wall very tight as not to fall and break my leg or something, and at 8:00 I went to bed.

Lets see how today goes shall we!!! grin.gifgrin.gif

I called 3 other places and asked what they would charge with labor for a new water pump, radiator, thermostat, and cleaning, and they all came out to about the same thing.

First thoughts were the same thing that $800 plus was too much, but your paying a pretty good chunk on that job for the labor.
