My back has been giving me fits for 30 years Martin. When it goes out and the spasms set in, it's really hard to get it slipped back into place until the muscle swelling goes down. Do what you can for the spasms for the next few days and then, maybe your chiro can get it to slip back into place.

I feel for ya frown.gif

Re: Oneida man needs prayers

I used to be a chiropracter, and I had a terrible back pain for a year (all of 2005) kept getting chiro adj, until right before christmas I had an MRI done, what do ya know a big disc bulge, that isnt supposed to happen to ex chiropractors is it? Evidently it can, so I had surgery done in January to fix it, I feel better than I have in a year, I can finally play golf and actually will be able to hunt this year. Keep it in mind, my surgery was simple, i was up walking 4 hours after surgery and the pain in my back and down my leg was almost completely gone when I woke up in recovery. It used to hurt constantly now I only get a little tenderness down my leg if I push myself a little too much, still healing ya know. Good luck with it, I hope you dont HAVE to get surgery but dont be afraid of it if you do, it was the best thing Ive ever done.

Re: Oneida man needs prayers

oh and discs dont actually "slip" they are attached to the vertebrae above and below, what happens is they kind of look like an onion with layers upon layers of tissue with a gelatinous disc in the middle, a "Slipped disc" is actually a disc with these layers torn and bulging out onto the nerve roots where they leave the spine. The bulge puts pressure on the nerves causing pain, numbness, etc....If chiro helps you out, it probably isnt a disc, there is not much that can be done for a disc, traction and some stuff like that, but just normal adjusting doesnt usually help, I say usually, I have heard of some strange cases, but more often than not, discs dont respond to adjusting, whatever a chiropractor may say. I tell people, chiropractIC is good, it helps a lot of people, its chiropracTORS you have to watch out for. Trust me, being an ex-chiro I have heard so many crazy stories from people about their chiropactors it makes me glad I got out of it, lesson being find one you trust completely, if it sounds crazy and fishy it probably is, make sure you understand exactly why they do ebverything they do to you, if it doesnt make sense keep asking questions, a good chiropractor wants you to understand, and be a part of your care. Again, good luck with it!
