OJR
I have used the 150 grain SST's and the new Interbonds in my 308. Both of them shot great. I loaded my own ammo, so I don't know about their factory loads. I shot a real nice 4X4 last fall with my 308 and the 150 grain SST. It scored around 140. One shot over 125 yards. I am using the 130 grain Interbonds in my 270 this year and am going to start hunting this coming weekend.
JimT
Re: Hornady Bullets I shoot Hornady 150gr psp cartridges in my .270. They shoot -awsome-! Three shots, all touching at 101 yards. No joke. I was stunned.
Guest Colorado Bob
Re: Hornady Bullets Are you talking about loaded ammo or bullets that you will reload? I reload & use 180 grain Hornady SP for everything----it's accurate out of my 30/06 & have taken 3 bull elk in 3 season---so I know it works. If you are talking ammo----I can't see a reason for the light mag.
wtnhunt
Re: Hornady Bullets Have considered trying the hornady factory ammo. It is supposed to be, according to the way they advertise it at least, in most cases as good or better quality than the average handloader can achieve. robk
Re: Hornady Bullets the nice thing about a 308 is there is not many bad bullets to shoot as the 308 is a very stable and string caliber for anyone and my 308 i dialed in today i would gladly take out to hunt tomorrow. in just over 6 shots i was dialed in at 100 and shooting 2 to 2 1/2 inches high and very consistant. good luck and the 150 soft point is an ideal deer round and you will be more than happy with either hornady or federal. also check your local shop and see if they have some ammo in 150 grain soft point in military ammo i found some and they shoot great i fouodn them very very accurate and am going to enjoy my rifle hunt thanksgiving weekend rob k
AJ
Re: Hornady Bullets The .308 Win is a superb cartridge. I have always had great success with Hornady factory ammo. Overall, it has performed the best in many different cartridges. As far as getting .30-06 performance, the .308 Win does so with most ammo. The deer won't be able to tell if it was shot by one or the other.
