Glad I'm not still hunting....I'm pretty burned out by the last day of our season in January.....but I still can't wait for Oct. 1!! Weird, I know.... [/ QUOTE ] Yeah, what if the doe is pregnant? That just seems wrong!!!!! Why don't they just have an early season for the urban areas?

Squirrelhunter91
Re: Success in March!! Rossman... when you kill a doe, you are potentially killing up to 16 deer ( including her self). She can give birth to triplets each year and will probably remain healthy enough to breed for 5 years or so. so 5 x 3 = 15 (fawns) + 1 ( momma doe ) = 16 deer total

[ QUOTE ] thats a real liberal season you got there [/ QUOTE ] Hey, the word "liberal" is not allowed in here!!! It's brand bashing!!!! Also, My point was, I could not gut a deer with 2 partially grown fetus in her belly. Was not saying that it is wrong to shoot them, I just couldn't do it!!! --rossman

The rutting activity usually peaks here in mid Nov, and most of the does get bred then. There is a fairly good chance any doe taken after the middle of November here has been bred. Like mentioned, the only difference taking one this late is that the unborn fawns are more developed and bigger.
