Tominator
Re: NFL Commissioner to retire Cool He's been decent. He's no Pete Rozelle, but he was decent. He buries Bettman and Selig, that's for sure.

buckbuster11
Re: NFL Commissioner to retire Best commissioner in any sport in my lifetime. I hate to see him go, but I dont blame him, he's done his part. I just hope they get somebody just like him to replace him or when it comes time to extend the CBA again, there might be a different outcome. muggs
Re: NFL Commissioner to retire good points John, there's a reason the NFL is so much stronger than all the other major pro sports, and that reason is Tagliabue.
VtBowhunter
Re: NFL Commissioner to retire [ QUOTE ] He's no Pete Rozelle, but he was decent. [/ QUOTE ] You're kidding right? When Tagliabue took over, the league made $975 million......over the years that has grown to $6 Billion. Under him the league has seen 20 new stadiums built and 4 expansion teams added. Not to mention the work that he's done for the CBA's.......4 of them since he's started. IMHO, he kicks Rozelle in the backside as commish. JJL
Re: NFL Commissioner to retire He hit it just right. Did a wonderful job. Now it's time to go. Congratulations Mr. Tagliabue., and thank-you. Now the networks can hire some dumb-*** to take his place and ruin the ONLY good professional sport the we have left. Oh-Well JJL

Master_Chief
Re: NFL Commissioner to retire Yes Ms. Rice does have a desire to do that someday. I don't think the timing is right for her. She has things she wants to do yet as Sec. of State. Of course she would rock as Commish. She is a HUGE BROWNS FAN. Woohoo. Go Condoleeza. Building is much more difficult than maintaining. Don't worry Josh, it will be OK. I'm sure they already have a spot in Canton picked out for him. Condoleeza Rice is not after the job as NFL Commish......she already said so.
