i was just wondering if anyone was obsessed with their vehicle like i am. i have a 2001 dodge ram and it has been an ongoing porject for 3 years. in total it has 10 inches of lift (3 body, 7 suspension), headers with straight pipes flowing into two 5 inch smoke stacks which rise through the bed, k&n intake system, 38.5 x 16 x 16 mickey thompson baja claws...and a couple other little things. was just curios if anyone else has devoted that much also into a truck.

Re: any yall have lifted trucks?

HRRRMMM!!!!!!!!!!

obsessed no...got a lift yes...

My '94 Chevy Suburban K2500 4wd has a 3 inch lift and oversized Aluminum wheels and tires...

It also has the offroad package including skid plates, towing package, long range gas tanks (42 gal), 454 V8, and the silverado trim...but I bought it that way...

What I want to do is yank the 454...(anyone want a used engine...runs great just guzzles gas like crazy) and a few of the periferals that may go bad in the near future and put a new 350 in it to save a little on gas...don't realy need the 454 anyway...having a few transmission problems (doesn't want to shift into the higher gears on the highway...further ruining the already miserable gas milage) So I may yank the entire transmission system and replace that as well...not sure if I need to do that though...may just need a new transmission computer...

OK so maybe I am a bit obsessed... grin.gif

Re: any yall have lifted trucks?

I had a 90 Chevy 2500 with 7" suspension lift, 3" body lift, and Bushwacker cut out flares. I had 39" Mickey Thompson's under it.

I had a 79 Blazer with 6" suspension lift and 36" Dick Cepek's, Jasper 406 motor 400 hp/400 tq.

Now just a 2500 Ram HD with 35" BFGs (no lift). I won't lift another one.

Re: any yall have lifted trucks?

I've put a lift on every truck I've ever had.

Right now I have a 2000 Dodge Ram with a mild 3" suspension lift and some 33's.It's actually the smallest truck I've ever owned.

Looks like by fall I'll be selling it to get an extended cab pickup so I can haul the family around.

I have a Jeep with a 2.5" suspension lift with 31" tires. It is not as big as some of the lifts mentioned above but it sits up pretty nice.

I dream about the 5.5 inch Rubicon Express Long Arm Kit with giant tires and a Hemi under the hood. One day hopefully.

Heres, I'll post it again so you all can drool. 2003 Silverado 2500HD extended cab 4X4 stock.

Add ons include....

-6" BDS suspension lift

-BDS stainless skid plate

-35X12.50 Toyo Open Country A/T's

-16X8 American Racing chrome rims

-Aluminum rear differential cover

-Billett Grille

-Flowmaster dual exhaust

-K&N intake

-Tornado

-Hypertech Power Programmer 3

-cowl induction hood (foregot the name brand)

- Alpine MP3/CD player w/speakers all the way around

-2-12" subs under backseat

-500 watt amp

Then I also tore off all the body molding and stickers. This truck sits as high as it can and still be legal for the roads in Michigan. I plan on in the next few weeks to get some Green torsion bar keys and crank the front end a couple inches to make it sit a little more stout.

Nice truck Nick.

Used to have a lifted truck back when I lived in Florida, sold it in 90 or 91. Was a dodge with 38 inch ground hogs total lift was 10 inches if I remember right. Was a short wheel based truck with heavy duty running gear, also had posi front and rear. That truck would go about anywhere.

Snipe, that is a sweet lookin truck!!! What axles did you have under it?

[/ QUOTE ]

Both axles were OEM...I purchased the truck in 82' ..

From 82' till I traded the truck in 2001 I had to replace

10 Motors

4 Transmit ions

2 Doors & 2 Fenders from rolling it.

5 sets of Ring and Pinions

9 Drive Shafts

Lost count of U-Joints and Bearings

I was going to get Dana 44's and cut them down to fit... But I never did...It just wasnt in the budget... crazy.gif

Here is one of mine. I did it to several, until I got a bit older then I stopped. This was the only regular cab truck I had...after this one the lifts were all on extended cabs. It was a lot of fun though! Now I spend all my extra money on my bike. grin.gif

Re: any yall have lifted trucks?

Had a 89 chevy lifted with a 12" susp lift & a 3" body lift 383 stroker motor detroit lockers front & rear , would pretty much go anywhere , but the gas hand & speedometer were always racin gas hand usually won !LOL to many shoulder operations, got to hard to get in ! now i drive a 98 f250 powerstroke with a 2" lift whole lot better on fuel !! the chevy also had 44" gumbo mudders , i do miss it though.
