SuperMn106
Looks like the colts have found a replacement for their "idiot" kicker. They have agreed in principle. That would be a huge blow to New England and a good help to Indy.

007hunter
Re: Vinatieri to the colts!! Good move for the Colts! Vinateri is probably the best pressure kicker ever. He nails them when it counts...
PAbowhunter4life
Re: Vinatieri to the colts!! Man, and down goes the Pats Dynasty. That makes McGinest, Givens, Vinatieri and I believe there is one more I am missing, not to mention losing Ty Law last season. Defintiely the right move for the Colts, now if they could only find a QB that doesn't choke

colts1888
Re: Vinatieri to the colts!! Good deal for Indy. Typical Bill Polian style too, lie in the media for weeks about not pursuing any free agents, come from nowhere and land a guy who was never even mentioned to have been interested in playing for Indy. Same thing happened last year when he got Corey Simon. He will help this team, maybe not so much in the regular season, but he will come playoff time. He hit 2 game winners in the supwerbowl. It doesnt get any bigger. Vandershank missed every big kick he ever took in the playoffs and his teammates couldnt stand him. My lasting memory of Mike Vanderjerk will be his taunting of the Steeler Bench as they iced him before his kick, then the way he proceeded to miss the kick as badly in a dome stadium as people have ever seen. I wont miss that crap one bit.

[/ QUOTE ] You know what man, that is my last memory of him too lol. Just thought it was a great bit of irony; not only winking and blowing kisses at the bench then missing the kick, but how he blamed their first playoff loss to the Pats on Peyton, and now look who's the goat. Then again, you guys had this coming when you decided to make him play sober lol
colts1888
Re: Vinatieri to the colts!! Sad thing about it is that wasnt the first time he had done that. Opening night 2004, he taunted the Patriots up in Foxboro when they iced him. That would have tied the game as well, and as you might expect, he choked on that kick too. From what i have heard, the Colts management was not one bit happy the way Vanderjoke was on Lettermans show 3 days after blowing the kick versus Pitt and splitting the uprights from 46 yards away with Dave as a holder and Mike in dress shoes. That was the last straw for Mikey V in Indy.
PAbowhunter4life
Re: Vinatieri to the colts!! Heck, I don't blame them for wanting him out of there one bit. He's just like TO, Vanderjegdt may be one of the best kickers of all time and TO may be the best receiver in the NFL, but they are both HEAD CASES and just overall cancers for their teams. colts1888
Re: Vinatieri to the colts!! LOL, just read where the Patriots are bringing Vanderjerk in for a visit, his agent says there is "mutual interest from both parties". Wouldnt that be something, the Colts and Pats swap kickers. Im not sure thats a good idea for Mike, if you remember back before the 04 playoff game, he said the pats were "ripe for the pickin" and other junk. The Patriot players were not one bit happy about that, he may get killed up there. In fact i think it was Bruschi who labeled him "Vanderjerk" to begin with,

buckbuster11
Re: Vinatieri to the colts!! I definately didnt see that one coming, and I'd be even more shocked if Vanderwideright ends up in New England.
VtBowhunter
Re: Vinatieri to the colts!! This is no surprise......the Colts have been playing second fiddle to the pats for a while, so when they get the chance to get a player of theirs, they do. Vinny might hit a Super Bowl winning kick for the Colts someday, but it's Peyton that will have to get the team to that big game. Why such a fuss over a kicker? muggs
Re: Vinatieri to the colts!! John...enter NFL kicker's name here:__________________ On a different day, Vinny misses his kick, also on a different day Vander hits his kick and your Stillers are sent home. Just cause Vinny made a few, doesn't mean he'll make them all. That kind of thinking is absurd.
