Turkeygirl Posted March 22, 2006 Report Share Posted March 22, 2006 Anyone in NY or maybe even out of NY ever been to one of these or sent your kids there? Since I couldn't get an internship at a local state park, I've applied for a counselor position at the DEC Environmental Summer Camp which is actually not very far from where I live. I got an application in the mail today after sending a resume and cover letter, so now I've got to get 3 references, fill out the application, send it all in, and do a phone interview. The last time I worked at a camp, I quit after the first week of staff training because the director was totally mad and insane (I'm serious like she made up these lies and expected me to believe them). I don't have alot of experience with 12-14 year olds but I enjoy teaching others about the outdoors so I hope if this goes through, I can do it well. Anyone have any advice or comments?
