Master_Chief
I got this from ESPN. [ QUOTE ] Too much pressure, controversy Say it ain't so, Mac. A day and a half after boating the heaviest largemouth bass known to mankind, Mac Weakley and his two lifelong fishing buddies decided to drop the pursuit of angling's most important world record. [/ QUOTE ] I find it interesting that they gave up that easily.
vagobbln
Re: Largemouth Bass Record I read all the stories pertaining to this fish and my take on it is that it was legit. I read nothing but good comments from people who knew them concerning their credibility. Out of the three guys that fish together, two of them already have bass in the top 15 on record, so they seem to know what their doing. I think the fact that the fish was foul-hooked (although legally) played a part in not pursuing the record. They had actually caught this same fish (it has a distinguishing mark on a it) a year or two ago and released it. I think they really believe they can do it again. Just my take.
