Guest hookedonhunting
I dont understand why we couldnt use some sort of plated lead. Since the wad is supposed to protect both the barrel and the shot , would it still wear as going down the barrel? The price of steel doesnt bother me. Its just i would like the effects of lead. i know shoot hevi.
billkay
Re: Another shotshell question I suppose it might be possible, but the process of doing it would probably be cost prohibitive. Then again, the CO's couldn't use their magnets to check shells.
clayman
Re: Another shotshell question lead is still toxic no matter how you wrap it up. The usfws will most likely never again allow lead in any configuration for waterfowling. the lead ban isn't going away anytime soon. get used to it. elkhntnfool
Re: Another shotshell question They're probably going to do away with lead shot altogether someday. Lots of refuges won't allow lead shot to be used for any type of hunting. I know it stinks but if it's what we have to do to help protect the sport that we love than I will do it.
