For those of you that have brothers and sisters.........did you fight all the time as you were growing up??????????

I can remember fighting somewhat with my sister. She is 4 years younger than me. But I don't remember fighting EVERY SINGLE DAY. crazy.gif

My 2 boys fight CONSTANTLY. ( I may have posted this before....sorry)

I sure hope they grow out of it soon. I've heard some horror stories though from other people. And it just doesn't look good. frown.gifconfused.gif

My mom and dad had 5 kids between September of 1962 and March of 1969. crazy.gif My brother and I were less than a year apart.

I think the age gap has a lot to do with it. For instance, in answer to your question, yes, we fought constantly, and so do my kids, and I think it's because they are so close in age. For instance, my 12 year old very rarely gets into it with my 4 year old for numerous reasons.

Based on my experiences, they'll grow out of it, but it will be when they're out of the house. crazy.gifgrin.gif

Re: Sibling rivalry

Yep. I remember having fist fights and rolling on the ground with my brother every day. (He's 18 months older than me) Probably around age 16 or so the physical part stopped, for the most part. For him being older and bigger than I was, I sure held my own! I'd say fights were 50-50.

Fights with my sister (who is 6 years younger than me) weren't as common, but you really couldn't "fight"....you just took hits from her and tried to stop her, and I was still the one who got in trouble. confused.gif

POST PICS!!!!

Re: Sibling rivalry

My sister is 5 years younger than me,and we fought constantly. She always got her way and I always got in trouble. It kept up till I got in high school and kinda went my own way.

Now we are just about as close as a brother and sister could be.

I guess it's just kinda part of the deal.

Re: Sibling rivalry

yeah we fought at times, 3 brothers and a sister you tend to find differences in opinion at times and you'd go at it.

My one brother once got so mad at me he kicked in the quarter panel of my car. I was mad then, now we laugh about it as its amazing to look back and see how we acted. Just part of growing up!!

Re: Sibling rivalry

The boys are 13 and 9.

The younger one gets mad when the older one won't go outside and play. SO the name calling begins.

Then the older one will tease the younger one about what stunts he can't do on his bicycle. mad.gif Then more name calling.

Then the eventual chasing begins and the hitting.

If I could do it all over again, I would have had them 10 years apart. crazy.gifsmirk.gif

More years apart is worse. I am going thru this now. I am 25 and my sisters are 16&15. The older one I get along with great but the younger one is extremely materialistic and thinks mom should buy her everything.......and mom does, Like this month it is she wants a car. She will be 16 in April and mom is buying her a 03 or 04 Mustang GT loaded....total bill $17K. I wish I was the younger one. I got kicked out into a rent house mom owned when I was 16 and when I was 17 she gave me a truck with 150,000 miles on it. Sorry for the hijacking. We are having some family conflicts right now. I don't like them breaking the company bank just to shut my sister up when she already has a 94 model chevy x-cab customized and lowered with XM radio and spray in bedliner for FREE........there is not a dollar owed on this truck and she told mom she doesn't want that crappy truck.

Re: Sibling rivalry

My brother-in-law and his brother are lucky to have survived their childhoods. It's a wonder they didn't kill each other.

I've heard them tell about the time one threw a pot of boiling water at the other. Then one of them stabbed the other in the back of the hand at the dinner table. crazy.gifcrazy.gifcrazy.gif

I think girls are more verbal with their "assaults". smirk.gif And waaaaaaaay more devious. wink.gifgrin.gif

Re: Sibling rivalry

Four years apart....boy 7 and girl 3.

Sassy little 3 year old will get mad and just walk up and smack the snot out of the 7. It is really hard not to laugh when he richly deserves what he got.

We will stop her and she will look at us like "hey, you know he deserves it, what's the issue?

Yes, they fight constantly.

Re: Sibling rivalry

HG, I fought with my 2 younger brothers every day for years on end, and we drove our folks nuts, but you'll find they'll be that much closer when they get older.

I may have wanted to beat them constantly growing up, but if anyone ever tries to hurt them or take advantage of them, then I'll defend them with everything I have in me.

Pretty much the same here, but I only have one brother and he's bigger than me, even tho he's years younger... crazy.gifcrazy.gif

I fought with my older brother all the time. Like buckee, I have some scars to prove it too. Usually got my rear kicked but it still went on for years.

Even though we fought with each other we'd stand up for each other in a heartbeat too.
