ousoonerfan22
Do you have to draw in to hunt antelope in Colorado,Wyoming,New Mexico or Montana? Can you still find landowners that will let you hunt them for a cheap trespass fee?
stevebeilgard
Re: antelope draw in only? in wyoming, you missed the original draw. but, you can purchase extra tags over the counter. tens of thousands left. trespass fees are 200-300, depending on the ranch. or, use some of the millions of acres of free blm land. jdickey
Re: antelope draw in only? New Mexico is a lottery draw and you apply for a hunt unit. Once drawn you are assigned by the State to a ranch to hunt in that unit that you were drawn. App. deadline is April 8. Heres the state link: http://www.wildlife.state.nm.us/ The going rate in NM for a private land hunt is $1000 to $2000!
Guest Colorado Bob
Re: antelope draw in only? Colorado is draw only-----deadline is 4/4. You can apply online at the DOW's website.
Guest Phaseolus (BeanMan)
Re: antelope draw in only? There is lots of public land in Colorado crawling with goats, the hard part is drawing the tag. Get started now on your points, or go to Wyo next year. ousoonerfan22
Re: antelope draw in only? I used to hunt mulies about 15 years ago around Craig,CO and I seen some nice antelope there but I've heard it's tough to draw a tag in that area. If the trespass fee's are $200-$300 in Wyoming and I can get a tag then that might be the best choice for me. Anybody know of any good area's in Wyoming to find a ranch in this price range? pointing_dogs_rule
Re: antelope draw in only? Lots of goats last year south of Gilette, WY. I believe that in Wyoming you must apply for a specfic zone. Make sure that you can get on the land before you by a permit and then have no land to hunt on. If you bow hunt you can buy licenses over the counter in the states of Souht dakota and North Dakota. I have hunted both states and seen numerous goats. Friends have had success out there. I have never been refused permission to hunt on any N or S Dakota ranches. Just be polite and ask first. I hunt northwest S Dakota and Western N. Dakota Good luck to all the dog PS: If I remember correctly you can apply via mail in South Dakota or you must buy the actual license in the state capital of Pierre. North Dakota can be bought at the local Courthouse

rossman
Re: antelope draw in only? We hunted in the north east part of CO last year for antelope and we bought our tags over the counter. But, it is mostly private land so you would have to get permission or pay a guide!!!!--rossman
stevebeilgard
Re: antelope draw in only? gillette is a good choice for a wyoming buck. contact the chamber of commerce, and they will send you a list of ranchers that allow hunting. you can get a nice ranch for 200-300. extra licenses will be available after july
_MD_
Re: antelope draw in only? The deadline for Non Resident Antelope is June 1 for rifle and archery. If you apply for a rifle tag you hunt a specific unit and you have to wait until late summer to find out if you have been drawn. If you apply for archery it is a guaranteed draw. You can buy this tag online. Plus you can hunt multiple regions. Here is a link for the info. Montana FWP
rifleman25
Re: antelope draw in only? If you were interested in SD you could come and hunt on my ranch just north and east of Sturgis. Leftover tags the last 5 years, and no tresspass fees either.
