elkoholic
Re: Attention All Dairy farmers Well at the cost of someone saying (again) I favor a socialist state, this is an issue where there is price control, always has been, and for some reason it is perfectly accepted. Granted, there are few people who realize that dairy farmers are ripped off, but the "law" of supply and demand has no affect here. The demand for milk is high and yet the dairy farmers are paid poorly as the processors are the ones controlling the price. For those of you unfamiliar with the pricing of milk, farmers are paid so much per one hundred pounds of milk produced and they can get a bonus amount per hundred weight if the milk fat meets certain standards. I think a milk strike is in order if indeed the price does go to $7.00/100#. It makes me cringe every time I see a farm fold and the fields covered over with concrete, because the farmer can no longer make a living. The dairy farmers should be setting the price for their product and not being told what they will get paid for it. No matter what "state" you live in, someone has control and believe it or not, they do not have your best interest in mind. The little guy gets the short end again. Washi
Re: Attention All Dairy farmers All farmers have been having a hard time. I remember a few years back when pork prices (in stores) went way up but the farmers prices actually went down.
