Long range shooting.

I'm going to be taking my 25-06 out for some long range practice. I know I'll never shoot a deer at more that 200-250 yard, I just what to punch some holes in paper. I'll be at my dads and shooting in a valley into a hill and have a clear view of what we'll be shooting into. My longest possible shot is about 650 yards, I'll be shooting an H&R ultra rifle in 25-06 with a 26" barrel topped with a Nikon Pro-Staff 3-9X40. I'll be shooting Winchester 120gr. Postive expanding poings, 117 hornadys, and 100gr. rem. coreloks.

I'm not going to change any of that, I just want some practical advise on how to use what I've already got.

Re: Long range shooting.

Can't argue with great advise!

Watch to be sure you are not canting the gun. It sounds simple, but if you are a little to the left, then a little to the right, it makes a huge difference downrange at the distances you are going to shoot. I have Anti-Cant Devices installed on my long range guns.
