Guest HaDeRonDa
Re: Death Rush (video) [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] Safety is far more important than "ethics" Hands down! [/ QUOTE ] "Safety", should be a part of a persons "ethics", IMO [/ QUOTE ] We all follow a different ethical code. Many are close but so very few are the same and even the ones that claim have the same as onother stray from time to time thus becoming unethical in other's eyes. I would much rather hunt with a guy who is safe with his muzzle than one that hunts with the idea of ,"we'll find the deer if I hit him" I tend to seperate my ethics regarding safety with my ethics of the harvesting of game yet many combine them. I can't agrue with that nor would I try. CC- nice definition yet not to be confused with moral beliefs. That is when it can get scarey and I don't venture down that road publically any more
txnmikea
I was there ... any questions? I filmed a good chunk of Death Rush. In fact, I was sitting with Mark and a client one evening after a hippo hunt when we brainstormed the name Death Rush. Mark doesn't wound animals on purpose, period. He is a very ethical hunter, it's just his sense of ethics may be different than yours. He considers shooting hippos 100 yards away as they come up for a breath to be unethical. Those of you who throw stones are the real threat to the future of our hunting heritage. After they outlaw what Mark does, your particular flavor of how you like to kill animals will be next. Mark was in his 40s when he pursued being a PH as a second career. He thought through the job, and asked himself, "what's the #1 role of a ph?... to keep a hunter safe." He realized the most dangerous position to be in would be a cape buffalo charge. So he booked safari hunts and hunted buffalo till he was charged. After standing his ground and dropping it, he realized it was the most invigorating thing he'd ever done. Lots of clients drop their buffalo in their tracks, and he congratulates them. They just don't always make the "highlight" videos. Easy enough to understand. The hippo are just mean old suckers. He pursues the old rogue bulls in ditches where they've gone to retire after being run off from the herd. They are very angry by nature. There is no provocation of any sort -- just walk in and they charge. Like I said, I was there. Most of the stuff written here by "critics" is a bunch of hot air. Any questions?
