VtBowhunter
Re: Gordon gets a fine Sucks that he got fined, but appropriate. I have seen Jeff in person, yes he is small but to wheel a car like he can do and the wins he has, nuff said, this guy is tough!!

IowaDeerHunter
Re: Gordon gets a fine Yep still can't figure out how they penalized Gordon for that move, but not Stewart for his intentionally wrecking Kenseth going 190ish. Just doesn't make sense. Basically saying you can do things like that on the track and get away with it, but you can shove people in the pits and get something out of it. But that is the past done and over with nothing will change about it. I was just comparing this to that and giving my thought.
ParrotHead
Re: Gordon gets a fine He deserves it? I don't think so. You can't put 43 drivers inside a dryer, turn the heat up all the way and toss 'em around 500 times and then "expect" them not to get angry about something. If shoving a guy is worthy of a $10K fine then what should be the fine for wrecking him? Oh - an act that actually puts him in a position that could harm him. Both acts were pure "emotional" however one creates a bad image for NASCAR while the other creates a revenue stream. At some point you've got to take the good with the bad. And speaking solely for myself - I've yet to see anything "bad" comeout of a Bristol race. And any fight that has happened hasn't done one thing to tarnish the image of the sport. If you're offended by it - hey, turn the channel and watch golf or ice skating.

[/ QUOTE ] You might be very suprised what that small package may have to offer.... I don't think he was trying to make himself out to be bad at all.... I think what he was trying to get across was that he wasn't going to take the crap any longer.... But we'll just have to wait and see how this move plays out, through out the season... James7xChamp3
Re: Gordon gets a fine Definitely a dumb fine by NASCAR. I liked that Jeff showed some emotion and it's not like he took a swing at Matt. I don't think Jeff's "new attitude" will have any drivers shaking in their suits, but I do like it! LOL, you beat me to it. Getting ready to say the same thing. [/ QUOTE ] Nascar is to partially fault for this one if you read the artical @nascar.com From the artical @ nascar.com "That doesn't mean Gordon condones shoving Kenseth, who like himself has a reputation for racing clean. He placed part of the blame on NASCAR, saying he was told to park on pit road near Kenseth's car, instead of driving to his hauler as normally is the case for those outside the top five. ." Plus how may time have you been watching football & teams start fighting & someone take their Helmet of & everyone says HOW STUPID! Leave it on. (Not This Time Though) As far as him taking not his helmet off he was one or two steps out of his car when things took place. (If You Were Watching) With 4 Championships, Jeffs Track Record of Doing thing Smart, far outweigh the things he's done that are considered Stupid! Jeff probably remembers comming in 3rd two years ago to Kurt Busch by less than 15 POINTS. Then to loose 65 POINTS on the last Lap. I'd be HOT & I bet you Would Be TOO! GO #
IowaDeerHunter
Re: Gordon gets a fine Jeff had every right to be mad, he got bumped out of the way and lost 18 positionsen route to a 21st place finish instead of 3rd. He didn't have the right to shove Kenseth but was just angry, any other driver would've been angry and gotten out of the car and done something similar. I don't think the 10K fine is right. I guess getting finds for stupid things nowadays in NASCAR is something we are going to have to learn to live with or either quit watching racing, because they will probably only get dumber.
