elkhntnfool
Re: 30-06 bullets? I don't think that anyone make factory ammo in less than 150 gr. for the 30-06. What's wrong with 150gr. bullet that would work fine for antelope as long as you use the right kind of bullet. I noticed that you were looking at Remington ammo look into a polymer tipped bullet for midsized game like the Remington Premier Accutip. That should do just fine. I have taken quiet afew antelope with 150 gr. bullet with my 7mm Mag.
AJ
Re: 30-06 bullets? Dropping below a 150 gr bullet will give a very low ballistic coefficient. It defeats the purpose you think you will be achieving. Stick with 150 gr ammo. It will be effective farther out than you can probably shoot it accurately. If you want to drop to a 120 gr bullet, get a 25-06 or a 260 Rem.
Guest Colorado Bob
Re: 30-06 bullets? I shot some handloaded 125 Sierra bullets at antelope. The bullet exploded on the shoulder. I got no pentration at all. The leg & shoulder were both blood shot beyond salvage. It took another shot to kill the buck. Since then I shoot 150 grain bullets @ antelope-------they will pentrate the shoulder & still shoot flat. CB
LETMGROW
Re: 30-06 bullets? There is a reason manufacturers provide 150 or heavier bullets for the .06. It will kill any game you can find in North America . No problem! There is a .55 Gr. available but only for varmit size game. Don't throw in the towel until AJ comes back with specs. as I'm Sure he will if you ask.

Guest Phaseolus (BeanMan)
Re: 30-06 bullets? Years ago I bought two boxes of accelerators. They sort of grouped about 4" out of my rifle. Not very accurate but when you hit a prairie dog with one in vaporized. fall down laughing type of hits. beanman
