My brother and I just got back from Georgia hunting turkey and hogs. We didnt get any turkeys but he put the smack down on 6 hogs. It really should have been more. On the First night we were there we unloaded all of our gear and headed out to listen for turkeys on the roost. We took our rifle with us incase we saw hogs. My brother and I were easing along a trail when we heard some hogs pushing leaves and grunting. We eased up there and there were in a little clear cut. Were we were i could only take a standing shot. I fired and they all took off. My brother shot twice while there were running but we both missed.

Saturday afternoon my brother and I were heading towards a rye field to see if there were any turkeys in it. While were walking that way I saw some hogs feeding along a little spring that runs into the main creek. We only had shotguns so i decided to head back to the four wheeler and grab my uncles .357 magnum leaver action rifle. My brother stayed back to keep track of the hogs. I made the 600 yard round trip and found my brother. The hogs had went across and up the spring a little bit. I got about thirty yards away and took aim at the biggest one i saw. Right as i pulled the hammer back they started running. I fired at the hog and then picked up the next one and fired at it. It dropped right there. Then 3 more hogs came running right at us. I shot one, then my brother shot one with my 12 gauge with a load of turkey shot. Both were about 15 yards away. Then the last oone ran up the hill when i shot and dropped it. The one my brother shot was squealing and going crazy so I shot i one more time to end it. We looked for the first hog a shot at but couldnt find it. In about 20 seconds we bagged four hogs.

Later that night i was sitting in a creek bottom. I saw 4 deer pass me. About 1 minute later 2 coyotes came through trailing the deer, but i couldnt get a shot at them. Right after the left i heard hogs go crazy. The coyotes must have got to them. They started running my way. I saw them come throu but the brush was so thick i couldnt get a shot.

On Sunday night i went out listening for turkeys and my brother went to the opposite ridge that i was on. right as the sun went behind the hill I heard him shoot. Then i heard a pig squel followed by another shot. I heard one more quick squel then another shot. When i got back to camp he told me what happened. He was standing on a log looking down into a creek bottom when he heard some pigs coming when the got 15 yards away he fired. The hog he hit started running so he shot it again. It kept running so he got it with one more. It slid down the hill and came to rest against the big tree in the picture.

Monday evening I saw sitting in another creek bottom hopeing to catch a turkey coming back to roost. I was sitting there when i saw one hen. Right behind here where two deer. Thhey where easing towards me when they all spooked and took off. I heard hogs coming my way and got ready for the. They were coming my way then turned right before they got to me. I got up and tried to get in front of them. I was about to shoot at one when they spooked and all started running. I picked one up and fired, but i missed because of all of the brush.

Wednesday morning i went to the same ridge that my brother shot his big hog at. I went listening for some gobbler but i didnt hear one. I was working my way along the ridge calling for turkeys when i spooked some hogs. I kept walking down the ridge. When i came back a spooked the same hogs in the smae place. I stopped and listened. They didnt run far so i went back to grab my rifle. My brother was there so he came back with me. We eased down the ridge and stopped about 75 yards past where last saw them. We were sitting there listening when we heard a couple of grunts. They were on the side of the ridge just below where we could see them from on top. My brother stayed on the side and i stayed on top of the ridge incase they ran over the road if they spooked. We eased towards them and when we made it about 25 yards I saw him rest his gun on a tree. He shot and pigs went wild! He shot one more on the run hitting it in the back. We eased up there and found the one he hit on the run and he put another shot in it and finished it off. Then we went looking for the first one he shot at, but we couldnt find it. The shot was pretty messy so we covered up the back of the hog for the picture.
