browning_gold_12
got my Rhino .670 2" choke and Nitro H51013 4x5x7 Hevi-Shot in tuesday. shot it at 40 yards and had 331 pellets in a 10" circle. 122 outside the circle on a 24" x 32" box. $181.00 for the choke and 10 shells, but it was worth it. they said to expect 230 to 270 pellets at that distance. [/ QUOTE ] Great results bud!! Their site says I can expect the same pellet count as yours with the .695" choke and H51013M shells, and they LIED through their teeth. I wound up with 340 lol. In all honesty, it was probably more because tears that were obviously caused my multiple BB's were only counted as one since I couldn't be sure how many really passed through. I dropped $150 on the choke and 10 shells last year and as you said, it's worth every penny to have the best patterning choke/load combo going, especially when you think of how much people spend testing 6 chokes and 10 different shells to find a decent pattern that performs half as good. Regardless, congrats on the sweet pattern once again and welcome aboard the train P.S.- When you finally anchor one with the Nitro shells, be prepared for some major carnage. I shot my bird at 30 yards last year and it looked like I shot a deer from all the blood laying around the bird. As for the head, we'll just say I kept it hidden to keep the photo tasteful
Leo
Re: Rhino/Nitro, deadly results..... [ QUOTE ] That'll get it done. Just don't let them get too close. [/ QUOTE ] DING! DING! That's an excellent point. If you do find yourself having to take a point blank shot (it happens) aim just above the beard. That noggin moves too much to hit with a softball size pattern The bird I shot this year was close enough the wad punched thru him and my pattern was about the size of a grapefruit. Just above the beard works just fine.
PAbowhunter4life
Re: Rhino/Nitro, deadly results..... I'll "third" what these guys have said. I shot my bird at 30 yards last year after I missed him at about 15 yards.
AJ
Re: Rhino/Nitro, deadly results..... Yep, now you see why I have been been giving them plugs for the past few years. Their stuff rocks! As for being easy to miss them at close range, I don't have that problem. I don't let them get that close. I take the first good shot I am offered inside 40 yards and the bird is dead. Granted there are times when they sneak in from the side or behind, but as a rule (for me) I don't wait that long. I am not making videos so I don't need footage.
