Jeramie
Re: wanted Does anyone know what the dia is on the True Glow chokes? I picked on up a couple of weeks ago at Bass Pro for $20. Walmart has the same one for the same price. It looks good but I havent patterned my shotgun with it yet. Im doing that in the morning. Btw, I still have the factory turkey choke that came with my mossberg 500, turkey edition. Im not sure which will hold the better pattern. need2hunt
Re: wanted They had some Mossberg Super Full chokes at my Walmart on clearance for $5 each, went and looked this morning and they are only for the 835 and 935 though, so sorry no help here. Jeramie
Re: wanted $20 at bass Pro. Precision machined of high grade steel and specifically adapted for different types of gun models (see chart below). Features tighter patterns and extended range. Accepts all turkey loads, including Hevi Shot. Wrench-free installation (although a final tightening with a choke tube wrench is recommended to prevent the choke tube from loosening while shooting). Ported to reduce felt recoil and reduce muzzle jump. Endorsed by the National Wild Turkey Federation. .665 choke diamater.
hunter109
Re: wanted thanks but i am wondering if you could take a choke to a machineshop to get it match would work. iwas wondering if i could take a undertaker from a 1300 and match it to fit a mossburg 500. i would like to see what you all think about this idea. Gator
Re: wanted hunter, you would be MUCH better off buying a new choke, than getting it machined. But I got better new, an Undertaker for a 1300 will fit a Mossberg 500, no modification needed. From the looks of this, they are the same part number. http://www.basspro.com/servlet/catalog.T...t=SearchResults
Gator
Re: wanted UPDATE******* The 500 and 1300 are interchangeable if they are 12ga
Jeramie
Re: wanted I wouldnt machine a choke threads. You would have to cross the threads at some point and that would make a mess. Not to mention, the cost would probably be at least $20. Id head to either bass pro or Walmart and just buy a choke. Walmart has that same Truglow choke. dartonman
Re: wanted I confused where this post is going young man....are you wanting to buy a choke from a forum member..or follow their instructions and purchase one from a store online. al
Gator
Re: wanted Al, from the looks of things, sounds like he is trying to get one made at a machine shop........why anyone would do that is betond me, when an UNDERTAKER for a mossberg 500 is only $20 bucks. Jeramie
Re: wanted [ QUOTE ] i have some one who would ma\do all the making for free/ [/ QUOTE ] Im confused too? If youre talking about doing machine work, I would not. Again, you would probably have to cross some threads somewhere. Not a safe bet. Buy a choke from Walmart or wait to see if someone on here has a choke that will fit your 500. Not only is that the safest bet, it will be a lot better on your shotgun. I could forsee some damage to your pump if you modified the threads of a choke to fit.

MrWiggely
Re: wanted Full chokes work just fine, Heck I killed turkeys for years with just a modified choke. If you can't afford to pick one up, just use the full choke. Make sure you pattern it to find your max. effective distance, and don't shoot beyond.
