VermontHunter Posted March 31, 2006 Report Share Posted March 31, 2006 I just got a call from my Father-In-Law....which by the way has to be about the second time in 20 yrs... So right off I was amazed by the call... Well the first thing out of his mouth was CAN I TURKEY HUNT WITH YOU ?? Of course I say heck it's your family land why are you asking me.... Well here's the story,,, he takes care of the family cemetary which borders some large posted wooded land, and for the past week and a half he's been surrounded by Turkeys, as he puts it a SEA of BLACK with tons of BIG TOMS....lol Well aparently he went and asked the land owner if he and I could hunt it this May for Turkeys, and to his suprise (because they don't let people hunt it) the guy says sure you can, I know you and you won't damage anything so have at it.... So I ask my father-in-law why he needs me and he answers you have all of the equipment and I haven't a clue as to what Im doing.. So it looks as if tho my odds have just gotten that much better on nailing a Tom or 2 this May.... As you might be able to tell I a little over excited at the moment.. THANKS for reading my rant.... Not only do you get to expand your turkey hunting opportunities with what sounds like an awesome piece of property that hasn't been hunted but you'll get some quality family time in too. It definately would be neet to double, but I would be just as happy if the father-in-law tags one... For some odd reason I seem to find it just as enjoyable if someone else is succeful, just to see thier face light up with excitement... My father-in-law and I have always gotten along very well, he and I just don't like telephones....I always stop in to visit and shoot the breeze with him, he's a great guy and has always been there to help me out when ever I needed it, but has never pushed his opinions on me....
