NASCAR'S Worst Tracks?

OK I'm going to change gears and steal an idea from another thread. What are NASCAR's worst tracks or worst scheduling changes that they have made to chase the big money. Here is my list:

Worst track-California, it still can't sell out and the racing stinks.

Shedule changes-Taking Southern 500 from Darlington giving it California and making it a NIGHT race. I love seeing a race end at 2 AM here in the east. Closing Rockingham, who knows where those dates went. Closing North Wilkesboro to give Texas a date and New Hampshire a SECOND date.

I'm tired of seeing the sport turn its back on who made it what it is today in order to chase the big money markets. Phooey on the car of tomorrow and using that as the device to slow them down. Put them back on the older shorter tracks, where they can't go as fast, and let the best DRIVER win.

I completely agree. I loved going to "THE ROCK". I hardly even watch NASCAR anymore.

Pocono, Fontana, Vegas, Kansas and Chicagoland are tracks I don't like.

I'll go along with that!I hate watching 1 1/2 to 2 mile flat tracks that only have one groove.

They key there is one groove. I don't care for Martinsville since it has been repaved and the 2nd groove is gone. Bristol is cool, but I don't like that it is one groove.

My leat favorite track is California. Always seems to end up as a gas mileage race. Next up is Daytona, and Talledaega. Restrictor plates are the worst thing to happen to Cup racing. It takes the race out of the drivers hands.Give me Martinsville, Bristol, Richmond, bring back the Rock, send them to a few other short tracks like Caraway, or IRP and we will see some real racing, where a driver can man-handle a car around the track. I find myself losing interest in Cup racing more and more every year

I like Talladega because being next to the wall can be faster than being on the bottom. I don't care for Daytona because with the new tires it has become a one-groove track also. IRP is my favorite Busch track. I wish Cup cars would go there, rather than the Brickyard.

Re: NASCAR\'S Worst Tracks?

I personally don't like any track that they have to use a restrictor plate! Come on...basically if the team got the car dialed in right...they are just sitting in the car with the gas petal mashed to the floor, hoping to be in the right place at the end of the race.

Re: NASCAR\'S Worst Tracks?

I don't care for the road courses. I think they also screwed up by leaving "The Rock"! That's my favorite track to race on on the computer not to mention it had awesome races there. I'll be honest too and say I'm not excited about this race today at Martinsville. The only way to pass is to bump someone out of the way. I'm going fishing today and I'll watch the highlights tonight on Speed.

I'm gonna have to disagree with you 2 on this one. The road courses really show which drivers can adapt, and these courses definately let a driver drive hard to make up for a bad pitstop, or a car that isn't handling right. It totally sucks to see a race at a road course live though. Went to a Busch North race at Limerock. Never again.
