I run just a lightly oiled patch down the barrel before I put it away, but my muzzleloader has a stainless barrel, so I don't have to worry as much as others about corrosion. You may want to invest in some pipe cleaners. I have a lot of luck using them in the nipple to remove any moisture I may have gotten in there when swabbing between shots.
