Guest deerhntnwithdogs
Re: Who is YOUR fav. hunting pro staffer I said Barta because he is traditional and I like his personality but he doesnt make his own broadheads I think he shoots Wensel Woodsmans or Snuffers im not sure which but he makes his own arrows (Like I do)and he made his own bow (like I do SOMETIMES haha) so thats why I like him. Adjam5
Re: Who is YOUR fav. hunting pro staffer [ QUOTE ] Ayone else like Tred Barta or only the realtree poster boy???? Still can't beat Barta, he's real!!!!! Makes his own arows and broadheads. Let's see Waddell "hold that"!!!!! --rossman [/ QUOTE ] Rossman, I like Barta also, he is in my top 10, but I really think one needs to be a New Yawker to really appreciate his intensity. He hunts with traditional tackle, Waddell uses a compound. There are 2 kinds of people...apples and onions everyone like apples, but onions, either you love'em or leave 'em. Barta is definitely a onion. His show is great entertainment. The Barta way... the hard way... Waddell brings a different kind of intensity to the field. You feel like you know him all your life when he talks and he definitley has my respect in the way he hunts. Michael Waddell is a Ambassador to the sport of Bowhunting...Glad to have 'em. But I keep dreaming of hunting with Tiffany Lakosky, Cindy Garrisson and the Crossing Country girls on horseback in a drop camp with... well you get the picture
frsd44pa
Re: Who is YOUR fav. hunting pro staffer I Would have to say that my favorite Hunting Pro Staffer is Michael Waddell. However, Bill Jordan, David Blanton, Tom Miranda, and the other Realtree Pro Staff are also enjoyable to watch. Seeing how I grew up just 25 miles from Bob Foulkrod's Bow Hunting School, I would have to add him as a childhood hero. (please... lets not get into weather he is ethical or not, this is just an opinion.)
woodsman2230
Re: Who is YOUR fav. hunting pro staffer I would have to say that i dont have a for sure favorite I like Michael Waddell, The Drurys, The Primos Gang, and the H.S Staff. Guest deerhntnwithdogs
Re: Who is YOUR fav. hunting pro staffer I almost forgot one. Prolly one in my top 3 I couldnt beleive I almost forgot him, John Tate. I love John Tate him and Michael kinda gave me hope to someday becoming a staffer (haha i can still dream) because they started out runnin the camera and then they learned by example and now look at them. Plus John and Michael are both really down to earth guys. -Chase
atthewall
Re: Who is YOUR fav. hunting pro staffer I like Chuck Adams from the standpoint he started his career as a writer and funded the Grand Slam with his own money. Talk about dedication and conviction as well as one of the biggest bull elks ever taken with bow or rifle. His involvement in the archery industry has really helped shape what we use today in so many ways. He's not a TV personality guy and he refuses to video his hunts. I personally think he knows having a camera man and a guide lowers his odds for book class animal success. I think Chuck is one of the last few that fit the Fred Bear profile in the Professional side of the Outdoor services industry. I like the entire RealTree crew, Team Drury, Team Primos and Team Knight & Hale and even Tred Barta. Each have excellent coverage, great hunts and great personalities with unique backgrounds to round things out. Tred marches to his own drummer and he is basically an old school type that prefers to hunt the Hard Way LOL! Tred's offshore skills are the best out there on Tuna and Billfish. He's got mad skills and adjusts very well to each unique challenge he puts himself into. Wing shooting mallards for 6 straight years with a longbow till he kills the first bird on film shows his level of dedication. No telling what or where he would have been 20 years ago if he had the youth of yester year doing it the Hard Way on film now?
Hillbilly
Re: Who is YOUR fav. hunting pro staffer Waddell is hands down the funniest hunter out there, he makes the hunt worthwhile. I love his comments about letting the Muzzy out and let the big dog eat.
Guest xx78
Re: Who is YOUR fav. hunting pro staffer the drury brothers shooting has gone down hill the last few years.the dream season8 has only a few good shots on it .they talk about hunting 100s of days a year they should take a few more days off to practice. then they could be as good as waddell. Guest Wyttale
Re: Who is YOUR fav. hunting pro staffer A few weeks ago I stated that I didn't really care for the shot that Stan Potts made on a great buck filmed for Primetime Bucks 6. I received a few emails regarding the statement about him shooting the deer in the neck. I stand corrected. HE SHOT THE DEER IN THE THROAT!!! I reviewed the tape, which I own a copy of, and he shot that deer about 2 inches directly below the center of the throat patch with an expandable broadhead. When the deer approached ol' Stans position at about 18 yards, Stan grunted to stop him and the deer turned and faced directly at him. The first words out of Stan's mouth were, "Oh' No!" By him saying that, it was clearly obvious that an ethical shot opportunity was not there to be taken. Then he tells the camera man "I'm gonna shoot him." After the "throat shot" if you pay attention to the deer running off, the arrow is protruding out the throat area of the deer. Now in his post shot cut away, He clearly says, "I won't normally take a shot like that, but he was huge." Now that tells me Stan made a careless decision to shoot that deer because it was huge. So what if it was a true monster, or if it was even a doe, he took an unethical shot with a bow and he knew it. At the recovery of the deer He lifts up the deer's head and you can clearly see the hole beneath the throat patch. So you guys that emailed me and said I was wrong about the shot, look at the video again and this time pay attention to the whole picture and not just the deer being shot. Good shot or not, the shot should never have been made.

yooperkenny
Re: Who is YOUR fav. hunting pro staffer You all watch too much tv - you need to go outside! Seriously though, Michael seems like an awfully nice guy. And I enjoy Jim Shockey and Uncle Ted. But if the windchill dropped I would have to choose huddling in the blind between Tiffany L and Cindy G purely for survival reasons of course.
