Stolen game cam returned!!

Recommended Posts

Some may remember THIS POST from about a year and a half ago when my stealth cam wasn't on the tree I put it on.

I talked to the neighbors and they told me they never saw it, but told me about a man that probably took it. I talked to him and he denied stealing it as well. I kissed it goodbye.

Fast-forward a year and a half. My little sister became fairly decent friends with the neighbors and somehow came up on the topic of these "motion-sensored cameras." The neighbors then said they had one, but didn't know how it worked, so it had been under the couch. (these people are as dumb as they come...the instructions are on inside the box. All the kids were "homeschooled" and my sister claims they can barely read...one of the 7 Y/O kids can't even read!! Really a sad deal) Anyway, back to the story. My sister then tells them to go get it, since they described it like the one I had. She said it looked just like mine, then the neighbors told her some guy dropped it off in the yard (they blamed it on the same guy I talked to a 1 1/2 yrs ago, questioning about it. The guy actually died a couple months ago)

Anyway, I just so happened to be at my parents house when my sister brought it back to me to identify. I spray-painted the black strap and plastic buckle with a tan spray paint...exactly like the one she handed me!

Now...I just got the pictures back....guess who stole it. The same neighbors that denied it. I have the pictures to prove it! smirk.gif (again...showing their ignorance....didn't even have the sense to take the film out. Surely they saw the flash confused.gif)

Anyway...here are the pictures.

Doe and a fawn, before it was stolen.

Took me a while to figure this one out. I saw the tail and was like "what the heck???" Then it dawned on me that the neighbors used to have a donkey....

"That's on of dem dang things that flashes ya....they have em in the big city...I thank they're called camers or somethin"

"Let's take it inside"

I'm just glad I got my camera back. VERY FEW people ever get something that was stolen back. I got VERY lucky....

Re: Stolen game cam returned!!

LOL...you guys ain't jokin'!! I kinda feel sorry for them, as their house is literally falling in on them (you can probably tell from the looks of the inside of the house...I've never been inside of their house before) but honestly, they're getting what they deserve. Anyone can get an education if they want one. It's just too bad the kids will never amount to anything, and that's something they can help.

Re: Stolen game cam returned!!

Why not take the pics and make a report even with the police now ? Even if you decide not to press charges at least the charge is on file with proof.

They might do it to someone else to graduate to bigger things. I would take the time and do it if I were you, neighbors or not.

I don't think he was downing home schooling, but was stating the parents weren't educated enough themselves to be home schooling and that it was effecting their kids education in a negative way. Correct me if I'm wrong, however.

I went to public schools until 10th grade and was taking about 80% college based courses in that grade. I had a medical problem come up that forced me to be home schooled past 10th grade. If you have good teachers it's just as good as public school and you get a lot more ability to work at your own pace and to have one-on-one attention from the teachers. The only draw back is lack of companionship of your own age when being home schooled. But, you simply just go to the mall after public school lets out or call up your friends and invite them over and that resolves that draw back. I actually advanced faster when being home schooled than I did when in public school. Never realized how much the teachers having to pace to slowest member in the class affected my ability to reach my full potential.

I'm glad you got your cam back. I would agree with the others that stated to file a police report about it. So, if someone else in the area is having the same issues they have your report as proof of a prior criminal history from that household. Also if you ever have things stolen again off your property it'd look a lot better to have something on paper showing their prior theft act.
