HarvDog
Anyone ever stain a concrete patio or walkway? What's involved? How well does it hold up to the elements and foot traffic?
wtnhunt
Re: Staining Concrete Never have, but bet you could find a book or get some tips from Lowes or home depot.
Jeramie
Re: Staining Concrete Yes and no. I sold my wifes boss a new building years ago (Vet Clinic). He stained the concrete with acid to make it look like sandstone. Its been a few years and it looks great. Its really aged and I think it made it look better. The only serious wear is from the wheels on the office chairs. They have worn a little but its honestly not bad. Thats from girls rolling back and forth all day too! Its pretty easily done. The vet did the entire clinic himself (nice sized building). He hasnt touched up a single thing!
johnf
Re: Staining Concrete I've got some friends who taped off thier kitchen floor in a grid, and stained it to to look like tile. Then they did some sort of thing with a rag and paint to make it look like marble. When they were done, they put a couple coats of laquer over it to give it a gloss. It's been about 5 years and it still looks brand new.
Texan_Til_I_Die
Re: Staining Concrete A guy that deer hunts with me has a concrete staining business. If it's done correctly, it will look great for years - virtually forever. I don't think this is something you want to do yourself unless you've got someone that has some experience to help. It's very complex and has to be done "just right" or the results won't be what you want.
