Swamphunter
Re: what expandable do you use??? I use Rocky Mountain Revolutions. They open rear ward so as to reduce the chances of deflection.

VTbowman
Re: what expandable do you use??? Rocket 125 Steelhead Extremes. Thick .036 blades and all steel ferrel. No bent or broke off stainless steel chisel tips or broken off blades for me anymore. (I am hard to braodheads on my rocky property) They hit real hard, open EVERYTIME, and cut 1.5" with 3 swing back style blades. Heck even the rubber bands stay together after a shot! I even reused one until I got home for a replacement band, which I really did not need.
billkay
Re: what expandable do you use??? Grim Reapers. 2 deer. 2 pass throughs. Total of less than 50 yards of recovery distance of the 2 deer combined.
Hillbilly
Re: what expandable do you use??? I love spitfires, but I wanna try new things. I think I'm gonna move to 4 blade 125 grain muzzys. BAD to the bone

Guest gt2003
Re: what expandable do you use??? Vortex, 2 blade broadheads. I shot a buck at probably 25 yds, no pass through, he went maybe 50 yds and died (2 1/2" cut). I shot the other Vortex 2 blades with I believe a 2" Cut on 2 hogs. One died in its tracks, the other went about 30-40 yds. I like 'em. Good luck making your choice.
MCH
Re: what expandable do you use??? Changed from Muzzy 4-blade 100's to Spitfire 100's. I've harvested two deer with the Spitfires this year. One made it 30 yards and the other only 15. The one that ran 15 didn't even know he was hit. He stopped, blew, stomped, flicked his tail, and then took a step and stumbled! Awesome feeling. I went from disgusted(missed him) to elation. DSGB
Re: what expandable do you use??? I started using Rocky Mountain Revolutions this year. So far, I have killed one deer with them. They fly exactly like my field points, and as Swamphunter mentioned, they open rearward on a sliding collar. I was skeptical at first, because I don't shoot the fastest bow in the world, probably closer to the slowest, but they did the job! My bow is set at 65#. VermontHunter
Re: what expandable do you use??? I took down 2 nice deer this year using the NAP Sptfires 100gr. Both were complete pass-throughs. before some-one asks I use a Alpine Fatal Extreme bow set at 62lbs and I was 25+ yards on both deer and they didn't go 30yrds before they were down. Never tried, but heard great thing about the Rockets and the new grim reaper heads, as in most things it's all going to be trail and error until you find one that suites your liking.....Good Luck on your choice. AND LOVES THEM. ANYBODY USED THE AFTERSHOCK HEADS? IF SO, WHAT WERE THE RESULTS?
WisconsinArcher
Re: what expandable do you use??? I use Rocket Sidwinders, 100 gr, 1.5" cutting diameter, .036" thick blades. I do love them. I bought a six pack plus extra blades, a couple of years ago, and have taken 10 deer with them (still have two good heads left). I used to shoot a fixed head, but switched to expandable in 2001. There are pros and cons for each. Personally, any sharp, thick bladed strong broadhead will do the job. Its all about accuracy. Put the broadhead where it needs to go, and it will do its job. I do see a little better flight over longer distances with a mech head though. Nowadays there are many heads to choose from, and I think most of them are good choices.
robk
Re: what expandable do you use??? i use rocket steelheads in the 125 grain and i make devistating holes in the critters i shoot. there is no other mechanical out there that can do what the rocket does and that is my opinion. hard hitting and the rocket steelheads i have been shooting is 60 lbs or less and no problems with passthru's and never a failure by them. also for those that need a cut on impact head it now comes with the steelhead xp then the extreme which has a bigger blade surface and the original steelheads rob k
carbonhunter
Re: what expandable do you use??? I used rocket steelheads last year and coulnt really complain about them. I killed A doe and she didnt go more than 20 yards. I decided to go back to muzzyys though. Two many moving parts for me, i dont like having to wonder if everything is going to work as ment on the shot. Plus a buddy of mine had a blade and then a tip come off inside of deer, didnt want to be wondering whats in there while im dressing/butchering. Guest KSNimrod
Re: what expandable do you use??? Rocket Steelhead 100's. They have absolutely smoked 7 deer for me and they leave a great blood trail. I'm color blind so the blood better be pouring out good! The steelheads have either opened a good blood trail for me or I have seen the deer fall every time.
