Guest Finn
Re: Groundhog Disc Plow Is this just an advertisement? You brought this thing up before and no one seemed interested. Sorry, just seems like the only reason you're on this forum is to sell this product.

wtnhunt
Re: Groundhog Disc Plow Pretty sure I have seen them, either in a catalog or a tv advertisement. For me the tractor and the old jd wheel disc do the job quite well.
Guest Southern_man
Re: Groundhog Disc Plow Nope guys....as I mentioned I was one of the first people to get one back last year and I figured it would take off pretty good. I normally use another forum and this was another I found that would be more national to see if word was spreading. Reason I was first to have it is because the first store to sell it was in Covington that I frequent a good bit. but if this helps those guys good, because they seemed like good fellas. wtnhunt
Re: Groundhog Disc Plow As I said, I remember seeing an ad for this product on tv. I checked your link and this is in fact the very same product. The televiesed ad had a guy on a 4 wheeler flying around a field, that had what appeared to me to be already loose soil. Personally I said in your previous post, I would have to pass on a light product like this, of course I already have a real disc. As far as the success of the product, look at how many suckers bought the cough silencer. Sorry, but just because bass pro is selling this light weight disc does not mean it is a good product. Again, my honest opinion, save your $400.
Tominator
Re: Groundhog Disc Plow I'm thinking of getting a little 5' disc for my Kubota. I have a 3 bottom plow and 8' disc for my Oliver, the the Ol' Oliver needs some work, and I just don't have that kind of cash right now. I want to tear up more of my field and plant corn and beans, and I don't want to stress my tiller too much.
wtnhunt
Re: Groundhog Disc Plow Chris, there are some good ones out there that would work well with you kubota. You might check out northerntool.com for some ideas.
AaronS
Re: Groundhog Disc Plow What size Kubota do you have Chris? I bought and modified a 45" disc made by Wallace Mfg. for my little BX, and will be able to give you a review of how well or poorly it works in a few weeks hopefully. [/ QUOTE ] LOL--I have th BX1800 (should have bumped up to the 2200) Definitely let me know how it works. Those discs made by King Kutter are a little more than I expected. $600 into the Oliver might be worth it.
Guest Southern_man
Re: Groundhog Disc Plow wtnhunt, don't knock it til you try it. Some can't afford big tractors and big discs. This is a great little plow that can go many places that tractors cannot go. I bet anything under a half acre can be done faster with the Groundhog than a big tractor. I don't like having to borrow or wait for my friends to be able to bring there tractor down to plow, I can just load up the ATV and throw the groundhog the truck and go whenever I want. wtnhunt
Re: Groundhog Disc Plow Sorry bud, just dont think I will be trying it. Too much money for too little equipment in my honest opinion. Your entitled your opinion, you think it is great, think we can all see that. Of course some people will go to the other extreme and buy a plotmaster for over inflated prices. Again, since I have it I will stick to using farm equipment for what it is intended for. My suggestion to others who have atvs, would be to look at the weight of this piece of equipment versus a drag type disc made for atvs that weight can be added to. With whatever you use, if you are looking to break new ground, a notched type dics will be the way to go.
Guest Southern_man
Re: Groundhog Disc Plow not sure that you understand the concept here...the plow itself only weighs about 30-40lbs, it is the weight of the ATV and the rider that makes it penetrate the ground......sooo instead of dealing with a big bulky 500-600lb disc, you have a 30-40 lb disc and your bike and your weight. You have that constant weight making the discs dig. Really its whatever floats your boat.....they did tell me when I got it that if I didn't think it worked good that I could return and get my money back. I have probably sold 10 or so for them with people watching it work when I've used it or loaned it to someone.
