dogdoc
Once you figure out the short reed I doubt you'll ever pick up the flute again.
Guest GreenHead
Re: calls i think the biggest diffrence between a flute and a short reed is how hard u blow. a short reed requirs much less air than the flute. also which kind of short reed did u buy? they vary in sounds and how u blow them.i used to blow flute calls but swithced to a zink acyrillic short reed and there is no comparison between them. in my opinion the short reed has a much better sound. Guest WhiskeyandMe
Re: calls I purchased the CD Breaking Through by Dave Smith. It is an awesome CD and breaks down the SR and shows you how to blow it effectively. I highly recommend it! I don't know what Kinda of SR you got, but there are several on the market right now that are great. If you want to go inexpensive HS Hammer is a great cheap call. I blow a Winglock SR acrylic that is a great sounding call! Good luck... Oh BTW...were are all BIG WATERFOWLERS! LOL!!! J.J.
Exturkinator
Re: calls Tim Grounds has a good instructional video also - he slows down many of the calls into their individual components then shows you how to put it all together...
