My grandad isnt doing well at all.

My Grandad (early 70's), who is a Southern Baptist Minister, took a bad spill just before Christmas. He hit his head. They worked on him for a couple of days and decided he had a stroke. They later found that he hit his head and had swelling on the brain. Im unclear whether he actually had the stroke or not. I think they are too. Im pretty sure they found he didn not have the stroke after all.

Anyway, weeks passed and he was doing pretty good. The swelling went down and for the first time he could recognize everyone. It was hard for him because he has always been independent and now he's stuck in a bed.

He got to where he could talk, feed himself a little, etc. They put him in physical and speech therapy to get him back on track. His hands drew up because of the swelling. His legs looked awful too. He dropped from roughly 145lbs to just over 100lbs.

He had to progress before therapy and he finally made that mark. They took him in last week and started therapy. Mom and dad came to visit and apparently he took a bad turn of direction. My mom says he probably wont make it more then 4-5 days. I guess everyone really found out last night. Dad called me at the office today to tell me it was bad. Im heading to the hospital in about an hour to see him.

Its hard to lose someone like that; it isnt looking good. When you all are praying please include grandpa and our family. He always said he wanted to see someone carry on the Coffelt name but to date he has 13-14 gandaughters, no grandsons. Im having a few more kids and would sure like to have a son before he goes.

Thanks gang... I sure appreciate what I know you will all do. By the way, his name is Rev. Louie Coffelt.

Thanks again,

Jeramie
