AVG. Pellet Count for 10"circle for 4,5,6 shot ??

It depends on what ammo you are using, how much shot you are starting out with, what type of shot you are using, the choke, the barrel length, temperature, and others. There is no set number or an average pellet count. More is definately better. Each gun is different.

I use only Nitro Company ammo for turkey hunting. They have tested various chokes, patterned different load types (of their own custom ammo), and have their recommendations on their site. Their stuff is not cheap but I have not seen anything that comes close to its performance.

Mossberg 835 & 935 (12GA. 3.5")

Economy Turkey Load With A .680 2" Extended Rhino Choke

501L #4copper x 5copper x 7hevishot® 290-320 pellets

Hevishot® Turkey Load With A .695 2" Extended Rhino Choke

H51013M #4x5x7 or #2x5x7 Hevishot® 230-270 pellets

Buckshot Load With A .690 2" Extended Rhino Choke

B510A #00 Buck - All 18 pellets in a 22-24" circle at 60 yards

B510A #000 Buck - All 14 pellets in a 22-24" circle at 60 yards

All Turkey Loads Show Pellet Counts In A 10" Circle At 40 Yards.

I shoot the 4x5x7 Hevi Shot ammo myself through an extended Rhino choke. It's a super sweet combination!

I have read of people getting to the 200 pellet mark with winchester supreme elite in a 10 inch circle out to 40 yards.

winchester supreme elite number 5, 3.5, 2 oz of shot-- 240 pellets in a ten inch circle at 30 yards with my mossberg 835 and a kicks gobblin thunder .680. I was really amazed at this. I kind wonder if this it too tight of a pattern. Out to forty I am still getting 140-150 in the circle. I have shot several shell with the winchester being the best by far.
