If its not a big garden get the plot saver stuff

or you can go to a barber shop and get a bunch of hair and spread it around, that scares the deer away

[/ QUOTE ]

Heard that one before too wink.gif

I wonder if you spread it around almost all of a corn field except for where your treestand is??? HMMMM grin.gif

How do you do the quote and comment thing ??

[/ QUOTE ]

click "QUOTE" next to "REPLY"

QUOTEREPLY.jpg

when you get to the little screen...you scroll down past the other words already there then type.

Or you could go to just before the first bracket surrounding the word>[ QUOTE ]

"QUOTE" and click your mouse there...start typing and it will show up Before the quote begins.

Re: Hungry deer !!!!!

I just plant extra knowing the deer are going to get their share. grin.gif

I have seen one product that I would love to see in action, athough I don't think I'd ever get, but it's a sprinkler set on a post with a motion detector on it. When a deer walks by, it gets blasted with a shot of water. LMAO. Wouldn't that be fun to watch?

Only other thing I can think of would be an electric fence. Hard to maintain, but effective.

Re: Hungry deer !!!!!

I would agree with the food plot thing. One other thing might be to hang a piece of trot line aroung the perimeter of your garden and then hang regular 5/8" nuts from a piece of fishing string all along the trot line. I would say hang one every 8 to 10" inches. This should help or not. I know it works when you are redirecting deer down a trail but I don't know how hugry the deer are in your area. If thier's not a lot of food around then I would say you are just S.O.L.

[ QUOTE ]

Human hair loses it's scent after 3-4 days. I know for a fact that deer hate Irish Spring. Ranger

[/ QUOTE ]

My sister feeds deer in her back yard and the deer still would eat her garden. However she used the Irish Spring and it works!!!!!!! What she does is takes bars and cuts them into thin strips and hangs them around her gardens in old nylons. After heavy rains and periods of time she has to put more out. However it does keep them out of her garden but it doesn't scare them away, so you could still hunt behind your house. good Luck!
