Re: Is a Moderator a role model?

"So in essence your saying you should be allowed to make posts that moderators shouldnt be allowed to make. "

Nope! I think that Mods should watch what they say if impressionable minds are listening. When was the last time you read about me chewing skoal?

"You apparently have some sorta axe to grind or youd have left it alone after that, but here we are two topics later still on the same subject."

I did and I stated that. I was not happy that the post was locked before I could defend my position.

" Almost gives me the impression your problems with moderators"

Never have had a problem so far. I think I have a very good relationship with most of the Mods here. Have you and I ever had cross word? Not to my knowledge.

"Children might be impressionable but they arent stupid, theres 10 posts against using tobacco for every one that glorifies it in here, what part do you think thier gonna pick up on fastest."

Not stupid but confused. Do kids listen to all adults, NO. They will more likely listen to someone their age. I know this because I have had over 8000 kids pass through my classroom. I think I know what they will choose. Maybe not your kids because you are a good parent.... but I have a pretty good idea what most kids would choose.

Pull up a lawn chair tonight in your garage, gaze up into the sky, watch the clouds, wonder what it's all about, then try and figure out how far away that star is, imagine why we're here.

[/ QUOTE ]

I would say the star is about 10 feet away.....that is if you are sitting on a lawn chair in your garage....

As for imagining why we are here, can't someone wonder that while they have a big fat hairy chew in their lip? Or why they sip an ice cold beer?

No offense to the mods but I don't consider them to be role models, experts, or professionals. I do consider them as fellow brothers in the fraternaty of hunters and fisherman that, at least share the same passion for hunting and fishing that I do. If they didn't, I wouldn't think they would accept this voluntary position.

Well said Alan. The only people that should be worried about being role models are parents. Be a role model for your kids, don't make them go to a hunting forum, school teacher, pro athlete, friends parents, etc., looking for a role model...JMHO
